We give you a world of potential

As a Technical Product Owner within Computershare Issuer Services, you will play a key role in shaping, prioritising and delivering products and services across a suite of business-critical applications. You will bring strong analytical capability, clear communication and sound product judgement, combining specialist domain knowledge with an understanding of business impact, customer needs and technical delivery.

This is a varied role requiring a high standard of execution, strong prioritisation and the ability to deliver outcomes within agreed time, quality and financial commitments.

You will collaborate with product management, global stakeholders and may occasionally need to support activity outside standard office hours.

Day to day, you will work closely with stakeholders across Issuer Services, Global Operations, Product Management, Business Analysis and Development. You may also partner with third-party suppliers where required.

A role you will love

As Product Owner, you will be the voice of the customer within the squad. You will own, shape and prioritise the product backlog to ensure the right features, functionality and improvements are delivered and maintained throughout the product lifecycle. You will be accountable for maximising business value, balancing customer needs with technical considerations, keeping delivery aligned to product intent and success metrics.

You will develop a deep understanding of the product, the applications that support it, the business areas that rely on it and the wider market and operational drivers shaping future demand

A natural leader and confident communicator with the ability to engage people at all levels of the organisation, be able to challenge and be a self-starter, the Product Owner is a key part of the Computershare organisation.

Some other key accountabilities will include:

  • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, sharing complex information in an accessible way and providing timely updates, challenge and feedback

  • Translate complex business and technical problems into clear requirements, decisions and delivery priorities for stakeholders and squad members

  • Apply Scrum and Agile principles to support effective planning, prioritisation, delivery and continuous improvement

  • Facilitate discussions, negotiate priorities and broker agreement across stakeholders with competing needs

  • Support the squad in defining sprint goals, reviewing progress and continually improving ways of working to maximise value

  • Manage conflicting priorities using value-based decision making, giving the squad clear direction and escalating or seeking support where needed from your Product Manager or stakeholders

  • Represent the voice of the customer, aligning the product backlog to the product strategy and roadmap from initial request through to release

  • Use Agile practices to stay responsive to business needs, deliver value incrementally and identify innovative ways to solve problems

  • Create, or work with Partner with Business Analysts to create high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria that meet the Definition of Ready and enable the squad to estimate, plan and deliver change effectively

  • Work with business stakeholders and release management teams to ensure product increments are delivered at the right time and with the right level of readiness

What will you bring to the role?

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong product ownership experience, technical understanding and the ability to operate confidently across business and technology teams. You will be curious about the market business and operations landscape, proactive in shaping future product direction how the squad delivers against agreed priorities and comfortable using data, insight and stakeholder feedback to inform decisions. You will also contribute to Agile and product communities, sharing good practice, encouraging innovation and supporting a culture of continuous learning.

You will understand how teams work together to achieve shared outcomes and will be able to build trust, create alignment and help others focus on the highest-value work.

Some other key skills required for the role:

  • A degree in Computing, Business, Information Systems or equivalent is desirable

  • Certification as a Product Owner or equivalent is desirable

  • Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to assess complex information and data and present it in clear, accessible formats

  • Experience using Agile requirements techniques such as personas, story mapping, product roadmaps and backlog management

  • Experience of Agile software development, working in a collaborative squad environment and supporting the adoption and continuous improvement of delivery practices

  • Significant experience engaging stakeholders to understand needs, shape options and translate business priorities into actionable squad outcomes

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including international clients

  • Experience working at all levels of the organisation and with vendors / implementation partners

  • Ability to coach, mentor or guide junior colleagues, including supporting task coordination, quality checking and continuous improvement
