Key Responsibilities

  • Product & Backlog Ownership: Maintain and prioritize the Digital Technologies product backlog; translate business goals from commercial product managers into clear epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria that the engineering team can act on.
  • Agile Delivery Facilitation: Own sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives; remove impediments and maintain team velocity and predictability across a lean FTE team supplemented by contractors.
  • Business Partnership: Act as the primary technical liaison to business product managers in Marketing, Revenue Management, and Guest Experience; bridge communication between commercial stakeholders and engineering to ensure shared understanding of priorities and trade-offs.
  • Requirements & Discovery: Lead discovery sessions, gather functional and non-functional requirements, produce PRDs and technical specifications, and validate requirements against the existing Drupal CMS, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and booking/commerce platforms.
  • Roadmap & Release Planning: Develop and maintain a rolling 90-day digital product roadmap; coordinate release schedules, dependency management, and stakeholder communications around upcoming deliverables.
  • Technical Validation: Apply working knowledge of web technologies (React, Next.js, REST APIs, cloud services) to challenge and validate technical approaches; conduct basic feasibility assessments and participate in design reviews without owning architectural decisions.
  • Contractor & Capacity Management: Coordinate contractor onboarding and ramp-up as the team scales for project surges; track capacity against committed scope and flag risks early.
  • Metrics & Quality: Define and track delivery KPIs (velocity, cycle time, defect rate, uptime); facilitate QA automation integration with engineering and surface insights to leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related technical discipline
  • 3–5 years of experience in a technical product management, business analyst, or delivery lead role within a software engineering team
  • Demonstrable understanding of modern web application architecture — front-end frameworks (React, Next.js preferred), RESTful APIs, and cloud infrastructure concepts (AWS preferred)
  • Proven ability to write detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and product requirements documents that engineering teams can build directly from
  • Hands-on experience facilitating agile ceremonies (Scrum or Kanban) and working within JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent tooling
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts for non-technical business stakeholders and to translate business requirements into actionable engineering tasks
  • Experience working alongside or managing contractor/vendor engineering resources
  • Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced team environment where autonomy and initiative are expected

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

  • Experience with CMS platforms (Drupal 9/10 preferred) and an understanding of headless or decoupled CMS architectures
  • Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront, Lambda) at a conceptual or hands-on level
  • Exposure to e-commerce, booking engines, or hospitality/travel technology platforms
  • Experience working with geographically distributed engineering teams (e.g., LATAM-based developers)
  • Knowledge of QA automation practices and integration with CI/CD pipelines
  • Product management certification (CSPO, PMI-ACP, or equivalent)

Key Competencies

  • Technical Fluency: Reads code, understands system design, and engages meaningfully in architectural conversations without needing to own them.
  • Business Acumen: Understands commercial drivers and can connect engineering effort to measurable business outcomes.
  • Communication & Influence: Articulates trade-offs clearly to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders; builds consensus without formal authority.
  • Delivery Focus: Keeps teams moving, surfaces blockers early, and maintains a bias toward shipping working software.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintains trusted relationships with business product managers and senior leadership; manages expectations proactively.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a rapidly evolving environment; comfortable shifting priorities as business needs change.
