ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a technically strong, commercially minded Technical Product Manager to help shape, launch, and support Lennox Commercial HVAC products, with a primary focus on rooftop units, split systems, and/or unit heater product lines. This role sits at the intersection of product management, engineering, sales, marketing, training, and customer support. The Technical Product Manager will translate market needs, customer feedback, regulatory requirements, and engineering detail into clear product requirements, technical positioning, launch readiness plans, and enablement content that help drive product adoption and business growth.

Product Strategy, Requirements, and Roadmap Support:

  • Partner with Product Managers, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Training, and Customer Support to define product needs, customer problems, and business opportunities across assigned commercial HVAC product lines, including rooftop units, split systems, and/or unit heaters.
  • Translate market requirements, voice-of-customer feedback, regulatory changes, application needs, and technical constraints into clear product requirements, feature priorities, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support roadmap planning by assessing customer value, technical feasibility, competitive differentiation, business impact, and launch readiness.
  • Participate in product reviews, design discussions, competitive assessments, and portfolio planning to ensure product decisions are grounded in technical accuracy and market relevance.

Technical Product Ownership and Commercialization:

  • Serve as a technical product owner for assigned product areas, helping connect engineering detail with customer value, sales positioning, and commercial execution.
  • Develop and maintain product launch materials, application guidance, technical selling tools, product comparison content, training materials, FAQs, and other collateral used by internal teams, channel partners, and customers.
  • Translate complex engineering concepts, performance data, controls functionality, application requirements, and regulatory considerations into clear, practical, customer-focused messaging.
  • Work with Engineering and Product Management to ensure all technical content is accurate, current, differentiated, and aligned with product strategy.

Launch Readiness, Training, and Field Enablement:

  • Lead technical launch readiness activities for assigned products, ensuring Sales, Training, Customer Support, Marketing, and channel partners are equipped to explain, position, and support new product introductions.
  • Partner with the Training team to develop annual product training priorities based on business needs, product launches, field feedback, and technical knowledge gaps.
  • Support delivery of product training through presentations, webinars, product demonstrations, customer sessions, and internal enablement events.
  • Establish feedback loops and practical KPIs to improve training effectiveness, content quality, field adoption, and customer understanding.

Market, Customer, and Competitive Insight:

  • Stay current on commercial HVAC technologies, applications, codes, standards, regulations, customer needs, and competitive offerings.
  • Gather and synthesize input from customers, sales teams, service teams, engineering, and market data to identify product gaps, risks, and opportunities.
  • Build market-aligned technical narratives that strengthen product positioning, competitive differentiation, and customer confidence.
  • Participate in industry events, customer meetings, and internal technical forums to maintain product expertise and represent the voice of the customer.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Technical Communications, or a related field; technical degree or equivalent HVAC industry experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, technical product management, engineering, application support, technical marketing, product training, or a related commercial HVAC role.
  • Working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, applications, controls, product performance, and customer use cases.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs and technical information into product requirements, launch plans, training content, and sales enablement tools.
  • Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and project management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and ambiguity.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:

  • Technical curiosity and the ability to quickly understand HVAC products, applications, controls, customer problems, and competitive dynamics.
  • A product mindset focused on customer value, business impact, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to connect engineering detail with practical field application, sales messaging, and customer-facing value propositions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to prioritization, trade-off decisions, and product recommendations.
  • Confidence working across functions and levels, including Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Training, Customer Support, and leadership stakeholders.
