Job Description

KEMET Electronics / YAGEO Group is seeking a Technical Product Manager in our Tantalum Product Management group. This is an onsite role in Milpitas California. The Technical Product Manager is responsible for driving business growth activities including product design-in at the customer, market research, product development, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning.

Routine responsibilities and activities will include:

  • Direct customer engagement aimed at building long-term relationships with key engineering teams for design-in of KEMET’s industry leading component solutions.
  • Define market needs and requirements for new products; collaborate with new product development teams and coordinate organizational functions to maintain a competitive product offering.
  • Lead Voice of the Customer (VOC) efforts to ensure proposed product concepts meet the needs of the customer, provide value differentiation, and align with organizational capabilities.
  • Travel and meet with customers and channel partners to understand needs, markets and market share opportunities for new product platforms.
  • Provide input to the Marketing and Technical Marketing functions for generation of sales tools, presentations, seminars, application notes, technical documentation, and training tools.
  • Contributor for developing strategic plans that provide long-term product line direction and life cycle management.
  • Follow new product development projects via Phase Gate process from initial phase of business case development and project scope through to end phase product launch.
  • Generate and maintain quantitative analysis of market, channel, and regional segmentation, size, growth, and competitive market share
  • Other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements: 25 - 35%. Domestic and International.

Required Qualifications:

  • Background in product development, electrical engineering, or marketing and manufacturing of electronic components is a plus.
  • Comfortable developing and presenting customer and industry presentations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Successful candidates typically have an aptitude for advancing their knowledge of technical subjects, particularly in the areas of engineering and data science.

Education and Experience:

Minimum of three to five years operational or business experience in a technical field preferred. A bachelor’s degree in science or engineering. Advanced degrees in business or marketing are a plus.
