Job Description

This role is responsible for supporting the identification, development, and evolution of product offerings for the business. Jobs at this level operate with some autonomy but are guided by well-defined commercial policies, product strategies, and review of end results. The role provides latitude to adapt procedures and practices, provided end results meet standards of acceptability, including quality, delivery, margin, customer satisfaction, and compliance requirements. This role impacts the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the associated product areas and has input into commercial and product priorities. It requires sound commercial judgment, technical depth, and cross-functional leadership to achieve desired outcomes. This role will work in close partnership with engineering, data science, domain, and business leaders to define and drive a clear strategic direction for an AI / Machine Learning advanced analytics software portfolio. This role will direct the team with a clear and descriptive set of requirements and deliver product features and functions by balancing customer need with business strategy, minimized defects, and technical debt. The role will ensure seamless integration and alignment of perspectives from a broad set of stakeholders including but not limited to: Customers, Process Owners, Enterprise Architects, Application Managers, UX, Development teams, and Technical Architects. This role will be responsible for the successful execution of Asset Performance Management analytics product offerings including SmartSignal and additional AI scope.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver features and significant products for power and energy resources software.
  • Own the short-term roadmap for MVPs and quarterly releases.
  • Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of customer problems and needs.
  • Engage frequently (70%) with the development team; facilitate discussions, provide clarification, story acceptance and refinement, testing and validation; contribute to design activities and decisions.
  • Own and manage the backlog; continuously order and prioritize to ensure that 1-2 sprints/iterations of backlog are always ready.
  • Collaborate with UX, ensuring that they are leading design decisions.
  • Work with product management leadership to understand customer and stakeholder personas and priorities.
  • Partner with the Service Owner to ensure healthy development process.
  • Be regarded as an expert in Agile Methodology; translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units.
  • Demonstrate superior persuasion and influencing skills that ensure alignment between customer, product manager, UX, and engineering teams.
  • Demonstrate business acumen, know latest industry trends, and be considered an internal functional expert on the product as well as the associated competitive landscape.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
  • A minimum 8 years of professional experience working with software products involving AI, analytics, and/or data-driven applications.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments with cross-functional engineering teams, including a working knowledge of backlog management, sprint planning, refinement, release planning, and execution.

  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management programs in the development, go-to-market, and end-of-life phases.
  • Strong understanding of AI / ML product concepts, including predictive models, model performance metrics, data dependencies, monitoring, drift, explainability, and user adoption considerations.
  • Familiarity with GenAI concepts and applications such as copilots, summarization, retrieval-augmented generation, natural language interfaces, and intelligent workflow assistance.
  • Curiosity and practical awareness of emerging agentic AI patterns, including orchestration, tool use, autonomous task completion, and human oversight considerations.
  • Ability to identify customer business needs, strategic priorities, and opportunities for value delivery through voice-of-customer activities and product discovery.
  • Ability to adopt a holistic systems perspective, empathizing with multiple points of view, challenges program/product planning assumptions as appropriate.
  • Basic understanding of modern software architecture, including web applications, APIs, data pipelines, cloud platforms, and service-based architecture.
  • Experience developing or managing complex products using multiple services, databases and application server.
  • Experience troubleshooting customer-reported issues and partnering with technical teams to drive resolution.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Aha!, Azure DevOps, Splunk, Confluence, or similar platforms.
  • Strong business acumen and awareness of competitive and industry technology trends in AI and analytics software.

SPECIAL SKILS REQUIRED

  • Demonstrated experience partnering with software engineering, data science, and domain teams to deliver complex technical products from concept through release.

Strong technical aptitude and demonstrated curiosity regarding emerging AI technologies and their practical application to customer challenges and product strategy
