Job Description

The Technical Presales Consultant works closely with customers and the sales team to understand business requirements and design appropriate technical solutions. The role supports the full sales cycle through discovery sessions, solution design, demonstrations, presentations, tender responses and technical proposals. It requires strong networking and infrastructure knowledge, excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex requirements into clear, customer-focused solutions.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical advisor to the sales team throughout the sales cycle.
• Engage with customers to understand business and technical requirements through discovery workshops, meetings and consultations.
• Design and recommend networking, cybersecurity and data centre solutions that align with customer needs and business objectives.
• Deliver technical presentations, solution demonstrations and proof-of-concept activities to customers and prospects.
• Develop high-quality technical proposals, solution designs, statements of work and tender responses.
• Work closely with engineering and delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically sound and deliverable.
• Translate customer business requirements into clear and effective technical solutions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends and relevant certifications.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure proposals and designs meet quality standards.

Requirements

• Strong technical knowledge of enterprise networking and infrastructure technologies
• Experience designing, building or supporting Cisco solutions
• Working knowledge of enterprise networking, cybersecurity and data centre technologies
• Relevant Cisco certification, ideally CCNP or CCIE
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, HPE or Juniper is an advantage
• Ability to understand customer business needs and translate them into appropriate technical solutions
• Experience preparing tender responses, technical documentation and solution proposals
• Strong customer service, communication and presentation skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively under pressure
• A commitment to developing technical knowledge and maintaining relevant certifications
