In this newly created role as our Technical Pre Sales Engineer, you will become the technical voice of Bilue with our clients and partners. Acting as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner, you will help shape conversations, inspire confidence, and translate customer ambitions into elegant, scalable and commercially compelling solutions. You will be the person who bridges vision and technology, bringing ideas to life and demonstrating how Bilue can solve complex challenges in powerful and meaningful ways.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical pre sales flow

    Work with our sales team on engagements from customer discovery through to technical delivery.

  • Pre sales and solutioning

    Engage with customers to understand business and technical needs, then translate them into practical solutions and a clear delivery approach.

  • RFP and RFI leadership

    Coordinate technical responses, align to win themes and business objectives, and ensure clarity on scope, risks and assumptions.

  • Proposal delivery

    Develop and write in presentation format the technical narrative that fits in with the overall customer response including human centred design processes, delivery, security etc to deliver high quality client outcomes.

  • Costing and estimation

    Prepare transparent estimates, optimise for team performance, scalability and cost efficiency, and set margin guardrails with Finance.

  • Deal strategy and qualification

    Support effort on deals using a simple framework, and define competitive technical position, showing thought leadership and partner alignment.

  • Customer engagement and orals

    Deliver compelling presentations, lead workshops and technical due diligence, and coach teams for orals with a crisp value story.

  • Security and non functionals

    Embed security by design, privacy, reliability, performance and cost objectives, referencing standards such as ISO 27001 and Essential 8

  • Reusable assets and IP

    Define reference architectures, estimation models, proposal and orals decks, demos and lightweight accelerators that shorten cycles.

  • Delivery handover and governance

    Set delivery guardrails, roles and ceremonies before handover, and act as design authority through early delivery to support scope clarity.

Qualifications

About You

  • Broad T-shaped technical depth, comfortable across web, mobile, integration, data, cloud and platform fundamentals.
  • Ability to design on AWS, Azure or GCP, AWS certifications are a plus.
  • Strong written proposals, clear estimation, sound commercial judgement.
  • Proven ability to build senior relationships in complex client and partner ecosystems.
  • Confident facilitator, you can run a whiteboard session, a C level pitch, and a technical deep dive.
  • Familiar with common tooling, Salesforce or HubSpot, Jira, Confluence, Miro or similar.
  • Comfortable in a consultancy setting, you know how to de-scope politely and protect margins while creating value.
  • Nice to have, solution accelerators, reference architectures, security by design, FinOps awareness.

What success looks like in 6 to 12 months

  • Clear thought leadership strongly supporting our sales strategy.
  • Shorter pre-sales cycles, clear entry and exit criteria for technical discovery and estimation.
  • A reusable asset kit in place, estimation model, reference architectures, workshop packs.
  • Clean handovers to Delivery, fewer scope surprises, better forecast accuracy.
