Under the direction of Technical Operations System and Technology Engineering Manager, Lead multifunction, cross departmental projects and initiatives geared towards achieving process improvements, cost reductions, new process/products introduction.
Responsibilities:
In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
Leads and implements projects and/or programs of moderate to high level complexity ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, company standards, operation requirements and business needs.
Provides project management mentorship and business tools, using a detailed approach to project execution. Prepare management reports and presentations. Effective project planning and structure.
Develops imaginative strategies for the efficient completion of projects.
Sets the engineering standard and direction for the group and is recognized as the source for mentorship in a field.
Is responsible for the optimization of process output and efficiency, equipment utilization, equipment downtime, waste reduction/yield improvements, budget management, standard cost and capital investment management in an innovative manner.
Leads technical support to the Production areas in evaluating process deficiencies, process changes, modifications and equipment failure. Defines, analyzes, reviews and evaluates problems timely solutions.
Challenges the “status quo” on a routine basis and Develops new insights within incoming processes.
Coordinates phases of work with other departments within the company San Lorenzo and with other Ethicon divisions.
Technical support for Non-conformance issues in the manufacturing area generating root cause analysis reports and corrective action identification (Coordinates and participates on Multi-functional Investigation).
Work on NCR files from origination to full cycle completion and final approval.
Leads support to Manufacturing Business Units for sophisticated process issues, where higher level of technical expertise in a given field of expertise is required.
Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Company Policies and Government Regulations.
Revise and maintain engineering, equipment’s and process procedure.
Participates in GMP audits regarding equipment recording and machine performance.
Coordinates communications within end users (Ethicon San Lorenzo) and machine manufacturers or suppliers.
Participates in projects involving other departments and activities (CIM, QIP, CFM, etc.)
Writes, develops and implements validation procedures.
Develops other Engineers, Manufacturing and Technical functions in areas of expertise.
Leadership – Provides meaningful contributions of project team and may lead multi-functional teams addressing large of multi-site projects. Broadens sphere of influence, including external contracts.
Financial management and scheduling – Prepare project estimates for design, equipment, installation, labor, materials and other related costs. Prepare project forecast and schedules and tracks costs.
Contract management – Manage and oversee project contract work. Inspects or directs the inspection of work to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, schedules and safety standards. Assure contractors receive necessary orientation and training.
Initiative – Works independently. Plans and develops own methods. Takes actions in the absence of specific instructions. Develops and presents new or improved methods. Solves manufacturing problems in a timely manner.
Connect – engaged in contacts with personnel at all levels within the organization.
Follow all environmental, safety and occupational health policies (i.e., ISO14001 & OSHAS 18001)
Leads and advises the different activities from the Engineering Technical team assigned as direct reports or contracted resources.
Experience in a manufacturing environment developing manufacturing standards.
Experience or knowledge in short and long term project management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
A minimum of 4 years of related work experience is required.
Experience in process or maintenance engineering in a Medical devices environment is preferred.
Bilingual, English and Spanish.
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to optimally present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and other employees of the organization.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize multiple commitments and technical problem solving ability.
Ability to shift priorities according to changes in department/facility needs and be open to different ideas/approaches.
Advance digital literacy and use of software application(s). Strong computer background (MS Office, MS Project Management, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Proficient in project management, crafting credibility within team members and growing capabilities of the group
