Job Description
Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.
About the Role:
As part of Netflix's in-house Post Services team, the Technical Operations Manager (India) owns technical operations for the India market — spanning Netflix Dailies, MPS (Media Production Suite) Footage Ingest, screening operations — and is accountable for service quality across all Post Services technical offerings in India. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Post Services – APAC, this is a people manager role: you'll lead and grow a team of contractor operators, applying systems thinking, risk management, and operations design to build scalable, reliable workflows across India's production hubs.
You'll partner closely with India's Project Operations counterpart to ensure end-to-end clarity across every workstream — dailies, ingest, screenings, and editorial — and align with APAC and Global Post Services colleagues to keep standards and practices consistent.
What You'll Do:
- Own technical operations for India, including Netflix Dailies, MPS Footage Ingest, screening operations, and be accountable for service quality across all Post Services technical offerings in India.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of contractor operators (including Dailies Operators and Dailies Lab Supervisor), building a high-performance, service-first culture.
- Lead the execution of Post Services’ Global Follow-the-Sun Operations of MPS Dailies in India. Collaborating closely with global colleagues on continuous development of operational excellence and efficiencies.
- Responsible for representing Post Services as local leadership. Build and strengthen partnerships with internal stakeholders such as Title Management and Production Solutions
- Serve as the technical operator lead for Netflix screening spaces in India — Screening Room, Screening Lounge, and Technical Review Room — and oversee local/remote operational support for sessions conducted at partner facilities such as Dark and Talkies.
- Own MPS Footage Ingest operations across India's Model A ingest hubs (Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad), including onboarding, training, and coordination of contractors, kiosk resource allocation, and fulfillment of ad-hoc and high-volume ingest requests.
- Oversee end-to-end MPS Dailies technical workflows and deliverables across multiple concurrent productions, acting as the primary Dailies technical point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Manager of Post Services APAC to develop the MPS and Live Editorial strategy for India.
- Apply systems thinking, risk management, and operations design to build workflows that scale reliably as India's volume and complexity grow.
- Partner closely with India's Project Operations Coordinator so that technical and project workstreams move together, aligning on escalation paths and partner-facing commitments.
- Act as the India escalation point for technical risk, workflow gaps, and tooling issues surfaced by Specialists and contractor teams.
- Represent Technical Operations for India, acting as the named decision-maker for technical questions that are local in scope, and looping in Global when a decision would set a de facto standard or trade off against the 90% Global standard/ 10% Local nuance line.
- Partner with Global Engineering and Product teams to pilot and roll out new tools, ensuring compatibility with the nuance of India-specific production workflows.
- Surface risk, workflow gaps, and improvement opportunities to Regional Leadership (Senior Manager, Post Services – APAC).
Experience:
- 10+ years of post-production technical operations experience, with prior people management or team lead experience.
- Deep knowledge of post-production tools and workflows relevant to the India market (e.g., dailies, ingest, editorial, screenings, QC, sound, finishing).
- Proven ability to build and scale technical operations across multiple production hubs, applying systems thinking and operations design.
- Track record of managing and mentoring technical teams, including contractor operators, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. A mature and collaborative mindset, and ability to align partners and stakeholders across regions and functions on complex initiatives.
- Familiarity with the India production ecosystem.
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity, applying judgment, and prioritizing across shifting, concurrent demands.
- Enthusiastic team player with a commitment to high performance and a service-first mindset.
Additional Qualifications:
- Fluent in English (Hindi or other regional languages a plus).
- Willingness to travel within India, and globally as needed.
- Ability to respond to urgent or after-hours needs when required.
- Comfortable working across time zones in a global team, including alignment with APAC and global partners.
- Deep alignment with Netflix's culture of curiosity, ownership, and continuous improvement.
