Job Description

Technical Officer in the School of Innovation (Ref.: 536647) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal).

Applicants for the Technical Officer position should possess a relevant bachelor’s degree, preferably in mechatronics, together with at least three years of relevant work experience; or a higher diploma or equivalent qualification with at least five years of relevant work experience. They should have extensive technical experience in robotics, electronics, mechanical systems, embedded systems programming in C or Python, and 3D modelling software, such as Fusion 360. Strong hands-on experience in developing rapid mechatronic prototypes is essential. Applicants should also have experience in operating and maintaining prototyping tools, including 3D printers, laser cutters, and basic electronic equipment. They should be self-motivated, able to work independently, and have a good command of written and spoken Chinese and English.

The appointee will be responsible for maintaining the School’s prototyping workshop; supporting teaching, research, and prototyping activities for project-based courses; conducting workshop training sessions and tutorials; assisting students in developing innovative projects; and providing technical support for the School’s daily operations.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or a written test.
