Job Description

Working Location: Sha Tin office

Employment Duration: 12-month contract

Reporting to the Senior Training Engineer, the Technical Officer II – Learning Institute will be responsible for developing and delivering technical training to maintain our workforce’s technical competencies in the power industry and to meet the CLP Power business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver training programmes, especially on workshop and trade skill training including transmission, distribution, and auxiliary technical competencies, particularly in the area of Cable, OHL and Plant equipment, to cater for technical and/or operational requirements of the designated training area according to the training plan
  • Adopt AI or new technologies to develop and maintain training materials to ensure their relevance and validity, and make continuous improvement to the training process
  • Observe and assess attendees during and after training events, provide recommendations on attendees’ performance and compile learning reports
  • Evaluate and revise training programmes/courses to ensure the contents and schedules meet stakeholders’ training and development needs
  • Operate and maintain various training related information systems (e.g. Oracle, Enablon, etc.) to facilitate daily operation of the Learning Institute
  • Maintain and develop job relevant skills and knowledge to ensure areas of specialisation are continuously improved
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • Higher Certificate / Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Professional Diploma in Power Engineering or equivalent plus 2 years’ relevant experience OR Ordinary Certificate / Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Power Engineering or equivalent plus 4 years’ relevant experience
  • An Authorised Person under CLP Power Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules would be an advantage
  • Able to communicate technical concepts in English and Cantonese, both verbal and written
  • Experience in training delivery would be an advantage
  • Certificate in the Train the Trainer or equivalent would be an advantage
  • Sound knowledge in AI application and multi-media skills such as infographic design, video taking and editing for training materials development is an advantage
  • A good team player, customer-oriented, self-initiative, innovative, analytical and willing to learn
