Job Description

About the role

  • Support daily operations and play a key role in operating a specialised biosecure fish facility.
  • Undertake hands-on care of aquatic animals to maintain their optimal health and welfare.
  • Operate specialised equipment and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct regular testing and analysis of water quality to maintain optimal environmental conditions and ensure system performance.
  • Varied tasks including animal care, equipment maintenance and laboratory-style testing.
  • Three-year fixed-term position located at Mount Pleasant, Prospect.

Our ideal candidate has

  • Knowledge and expertise in the operation and maintenance of recirculating aquaculture systems and associated equipment.
  • Proven experience in fish care and husbandry.
  • Experience in providing technical support for laboratory or field-based aquatic research.
  • Understanding of biosecurity and biocontainment in primary production or laboratory settings.
  • Practical knowledge of workplace health and safety in laboratory and aquaculture environments.
