We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Technical Manager – Coolants & Brake Fluids to lead product development, manufacturing, quality assurance, laboratory operations, and technical support activities for automotive coolants, antifreeze products, and brake fluids.
The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in coolant formulation (IAT, OAT, HOAT technologies), antifreeze manufacturing, DOT brake fluid technology, quality control, product certification, OEM specifications, and manufacturing process optimization. The role will be responsible for ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and continuous product innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Formulation
Develop and optimize automotive coolant formulations including:
IAT (Inorganic Additive Technology)
OAT (Organic Acid Technology)
HOAT (Hybrid Organic Acid Technology)
Ready-to-use coolants
Concentrated antifreeze products
Heavy-duty diesel engine coolants
Develop and improve brake fluid formulations including:
DOT 3
DOT 4
DOT 4 LV
DOT 5.1
Conduct product benchmarking, formulation enhancement, and performance optimization.
Support new product development and commercialization initiatives.
Manufacturing Operations
Establish manufacturing procedures, SOPs, and batch production instructions.
Manage blending, production, and packaging operations.
Optimize production efficiency, yield, and resource utilization.
Troubleshoot manufacturing and formulation-related issues.
Implement GMP, quality systems, and process improvement initiatives.
Support plant commissioning, expansion, and technology upgrades where required.
Quality Control & Laboratory Management
Lead laboratory testing and quality assurance activities.
Ensure compliance with product specifications and industry standards.
Manage testing for:
pH
Reserve Alkalinity
Freeze Point
Boiling Point
Corrosion Protection
Foam Characteristics
Hard Water Stability
Viscosity
Wet and Dry Boiling Point of Brake Fluids
Rubber Compatibility
Corrosion Performance
Investigate product quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Maintain calibration and validation of laboratory equipment.

Evaluate and approve raw materials and suppliers.
Manage sourcing and qualification of:
Ethylene Glycol (MEG)
Propylene Glycol (MPG)
Corrosion Inhibitors
Organic Acid Technologies
Silicates
Borates
Glycol Ethers
Brake Fluid Additive Packages
Monitor supplier performance and product consistency.
Technical Support
Provide technical support to customers, distributors, and sales teams.
Conduct product training and technical presentations.
Investigate field complaints and product performance issues.
Support OEM and customer qualification programs.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's/Masters Degree in:
Chemical Engineering
Chemistry
Industrial Chemistry
Petroleum & Petrochemical Engineering
Preferred
Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
Experience
Minimum 10–20 years of relevant experience in:
Coolant manufacturing
Antifreeze production
Brake fluid manufacturing
Automotive chemicals industry
Quality control laboratory management
Proven experience in formulation development and process optimization.
Experience in OEM approvals and product certification programs.
Experience in managing manufacturing and technical teams.
