Samsung Networks is a global leader in Open RAN, with successful deployments in Asia, the US, Canada, and the EU. As part of our continued expansion in Europe, Samsung is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to oversee ORAN network activities.
This role offers the opportunity to manage and oversee Design, Test/Validation, and Operational activities, ensuring Samsung's deliverables are executed effectively and our product and service capabilities are showcased to the fullest. It's an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a proven track record in delivering complex mobile network projects and a commitment to creating highly satisfied customers.
The role is based in Prague but will require travel to other project locations in Czechia, as well as occasional travel to other European cities and Samsung's headquarters in Korea.

Role and Responsibilities

Your Role

  • Provide input to the Head of Operation for resource estimates, R&R, and Statement of Work preparation.

  • Ensure a resource model that maximizes resource utilization and promotes a "do it once" philosophy for reusability.

  • Work closely with the Head of Operation to anticipate resourcing needs and ensure timely execution of Samsung Global Service Centre (GSC) activities.

  • Own the relationship with the customer for design, testing, and in-life phases, ensuring regular engagement and strong relationships from the outset.

  • Identify resourcing needs and execute hiring in specific markets and with GSC to support project delivery and operations.

  • Oversee Network Design (HLD/LLD), lab deployment, test case validation, and in-life operations according to agreed R&R with the customer.

  • Collaborate with Samsung's performance team to ensure maximum stability and performance during the in-life phase.

  • Manage the in-life operations phase, including technical incident management, case management, and interfacing with GSC Level 3 and Samsung R&D for corrections and RCA delivery.

  • Assist in developing the Operational Manual for the customer and support operational readiness streams.

  • Define CaaS project service requirements across delivery and operational phases, ensuring clear R&R and accountability with vendors.

  • Ensure technical deliveries are completed to a high standard and phased sign-off is achieved with the customer.

  • Develop and manage processes/procedures associated with delivery and operational SLAs.

  • Provide regular internal reporting on progress, risks, issues, and milestone adherence.

  • Manage third-party suppliers to ensure they meet contractual commitments and deliver to the highest standards.

  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with customer technical organizations up to Head of Function level.

  • Ensure sign-off at each technical milestone, including Design and Test completion.

  • Deliver high-quality documentation across Design, Test, and in-life functions, maintaining a comprehensive repository.

What We're Looking For

  • A degree in Telecoms, IT, or Computer Science (or equivalent industrial experience).

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the mobile telecommunications market.

  • Self-confidence and a firm stance when dealing with customers, partners, staff, and subcontractors.

  • Proven ability to control the performance of staff/partners/subcontractors.

  • Excellent knowledge of Open Radio Access Technologies.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud and virtualization technologies, including Kubernetes/Linux.

  • Expertise in mobile radio networks (GSM/LTE/NR/ORAN).

  • Deep understanding of 2G/4G/5G call processing and signaling.

  • Extensive experience in lab activities, integration, testing/validation, and performance analysis via counters & traces.

  • In-depth knowledge of Network Design methodologies (HLD/LLD) in RAN/vRAN.

  • Initiative and autonomy in your approach to work.

  • Excellent reporting and presentation skills.

  • High competence in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Fluency in spoken and written Czech and English.

  • Strong team player with the ability to work under tight timelines.
