The Technical Manager - R&D will be responsible for the design, development, and validation of trunnion-mounted soft seated and metal seated ball valves. The role involves leading product development projects, managing engineering teams, and ensuring products meet industry standards and customer requirements.
Lead a team of design engineers and drive new product development projects through the NPD stage-gate process.
Develop product concepts, prototypes, and testing plans.
Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing teams for prototype and sample development.
Lead product certification activities and support audits for standards such as API, PED, and SIL.
Collaborate with Product Managers to understand customer and market requirements.
Work closely with global engineering teams to implement best practices.
Conduct design reviews and design verification activities.
Develop and execute product validation and testing plans.
Support intellectual property generation and protection initiatives.
Maintain engineering documentation and product records through PLM/PDM systems.
Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE/B.Tech).
8 to 12 years of experience in industrial valve design and product development.
Experience in trunnion-mounted ball valves, preferably both soft seated and metal seated valves.
Strong understanding of solid and fluid mechanics.
Experience in low-temperature and high-temperature valve design is preferred.
Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PLM/EPDM systems
Good knowledge of ASME, API, and EN standards, GD&T, Tolerance stack-up analysis
Product validation and certification processes
