Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of a Technical Manager, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £299.00 - £378.53 per day

The Technical Manager will lead the technical design and engineering aspects of residential developments from land acquisition through to project completion. The role involves managing multidisciplinary design teams, securing statutory approvals, coordinating technical information, and ensuring developments are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards. Based at County Hall, Northallerton, the role requires regular travel to development sites across North Yorkshire.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the technical design process for residential developments from acquisition to completion.
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, surveyors, and specialist consultants.
  • Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and construction information.
  • Manage planning conditions and secure statutory approvals, including Building Regulations, highways, drainage, utilities, and environmental consents.
  • Support construction teams by providing technical advice and resolving design-related issues.

Essentials:

  • Proven experience in a Technical Manager or Senior Technical role within a UK residential housebuilder.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and technical design processes.
  • Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations, planning legislation, highways, drainage, utilities, and statutory approvals.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants.
  • Ability to review, interpret, and coordinate architectural and engineering drawings.
