Job Description

GE Vernova is looking for highly motivated individuals to join the Aero Equipment Inquiry to Remittance (ITR) Engineering Team. GE Vernova Gas Power is a growing and exciting business encompassing all Aero Derivative Gas Turbines and Power Plants enabling renewable penetration through grid firming, decarbonizing and electrifying the world.

The Technical Leader-Mechanical Engineering (Inquiry to Remittance) will be part of a team tasked to deliver wing-to-wing customer solutions for Aeroderivative Gas Turbine Generator Equipment projects, from competitive proposal to execution of solutions. This individual will be part of a team that executes with safety, quality, on-time delivery, and at cost. The successful candidate will interface with customers, vendors, manufacturing, project managers, sourcing, and sales teams.

This role requires a solid technical foundation on engine, package, and systems integration, as well as commercial acumen and customer facing experience. Starting with design verification and validation of the gas turbine generator package, this individual defines detailed work scope to meet or exceed contractual requirements, makes system level trades and handles ITR engineering change management process.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Be a recognized expert in Mechanical systems with hands on experience in designing and providing technical direction for mechanical design efforts to develop innovative solutions for GE Vernova Aeroderivative gas turbine packages
  • Lead execution of ITR Package Engineering projects with focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
  • Develop Standard Work Instructions for ITR processes and procedures.
  • Provide technical expertise, develop technical solutions and execute as part of the ITR process while interfacing with the commercial & sales teams
  • Train and develop less experienced engineers.
  • Actively collaborate with Product Support, ITR, NPI and other organizations to ensure world class Engineering products
  • Maintain and drive quality metrics, apply lessons learned and continuous improvement for the projects
  • Knowledgeable on configuration trades, studies and prior projects execution and issues.
  • Provide guidance and supervision for creation of technical specifications for suppliers of sub-assemblies and major components to ensure compliance with project CTQs.
  • Provide product clarification and answers to customer’s questions, work with installation and commissioning team to resolve site issues.
  • Work with compliance team to ensure compliance with local codes and regulations in different regions.
  • Identify and execute project savings and utilization of available parts (SMI) opportunities to meet business cost saving goals.
  • Provides timely communication and recommendations on significant issues or developments to senior leadership teams.
  • Review design and risk mitigation needs with technical fulfillment leaders /chief engineers and communicate modifications to manufacturing and sourcing team.
  • Provide technical support and guidance for: Engineering Releases, HOMs, CKOMs, PSE Handover, Customer Meetings, Project Meetings, etc.
  • Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of work experience related to bills of materials, manufacturing, drawing creation, drawing change management, mechanical engineering, and product design.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of power plant related or gas turbine work experience with strong understanding of gas turbine-based packages, including auxiliary systems or balance of plant equipment.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of focused customer service and fulfillment experience.

Desired Characteristics

  • Master’s degree in engineering
  • Leads with a Lean mindset and apply Lean tools to improve business operations
  • Proven expertise in the following areas for GE Vernova Aeroderivative gas turbine packages: Gas Turbine & Power augmentation, Gas Turbine Installation and Foundations, Fuel systems design, Hydraulic systems design, Lube oil systems, and TR&S compliance, codes & standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a minimum of eight (8) years of exposure to power generation equipment manufacturing or packaging.
  • Customer advocate who continuously strives to simplify and streamline processes to improve quality and deliver a defect-free customer experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a complex and dynamic business environment.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
