Scor Tech department (~200 employees across the globe) provides products, services, and support to all SCOR Group worldwide. Its 2 key challenges today are to successfully implement its new Target Operating Model (TOM), to be supported by an ambitious pluri-annual internalization plan to deliver innovative products and services to its clients.
The Tech & Data organization is an Agile matricial organization relying on 4 pillars:
Crews are supported by Chapters (System Engineering, Architecture, DevOps, …) and both Technical and M&C-C teams are fully dedicated to the delivery of SCOR products, services and support.
This position is attached to the Financial Production crew.
Within that crew, the Data Integration Platform (DIP) is a key element of the value-chain which hosts Finance Data and operation for all SCOR businesses (L&H, P&C and investment). It is a data integration platform based on IBM IAS technology which purpose is to centralize in a transversally consistent and secured way all the reinsurance technical information produced by the different tools involved in the chain.
This platform aggregates the results produced by the various systems, ensures a minimum level of reconciliation between them but, more than a simple data warehouse, it offers quality control services on the loading, orchestration, historization, cartography and provide the Business teams with strong reporting capabilities.
The DIP Finance Tech Lead is accountable of the consistency of technical solution implemented on the platform and coordinate the version upgrades of technical components.

However many tools we use to conduct our activities (models, databases, pricing tools, reserving tools, and so on), we also need expert judgments and human experience to correctly underwrite. The most advanced tool will never replace the intuition of a seasoned underwriter facing a complex risk. Because at the end of the day, you have to make a decision, to sign, to underwrite.
