Job Description

As Technical Leader (TL), Controls Systems Integration you will lead the Controls System Integration Leaders (SILs) team providing technical coordination across New Product Introduction (NPI) programs for their entire lifecycle. Moreover, you will coordinate the development of engineering requirements, design, risk assessment and mitigation for new Software Change Requests in line with the Controls Demand Management and Release Flightboard prioritization.

You will be reporting to the Controls Integration Leader, joining a global team of Systems engineers that is part of the Controls Lifecycle Sub-system within the GE Vernova Wind Engineering organization.

In addition to Controls, you will closely interact with other Sub-systems and Systems engineers, as well as with Program Management and Services/Customer engineering.

By supporting multiple, concurrent new products and an installed fleet of 40,000+ wind turbines, this role offers the opportunity to greatly contribute to deliver reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy to GE Vernova’s customers all over the world.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Determine scope and technical feasibility for Controls of new programs, interfacing with product management, systems and other sub-systems teams.
  • Drive prioritization , on-quality and on-time delivery of the Controls System Integration Leaders (SILs) work, aligning with the Controls Integration Manager and the Sub-system Operation leader.
  • Coordinate the Controls SILs work for new Software Change Requests (e.g. PLR/SLR, DFMEAs, etc) following the Controls Demand Management and the Release Flightboard prioritization.
  • Interact with Controls Sensing and Platform team to prioritize and execute relevant Controls Hardware work (e.g. DM2, ECO, BOM) within the scope of critical Controls NPIs.
  • Provide technical guidance to the Control SILs across NPIs, promoting standard work and knowledge sharing.
  • Execute Controls SIL scope of work (Requirements, Design Reviews, Parameter hand-offs) for critical programs / as needed.
  • Ensure rigor in Controls Lifecycle Management and compliance to the Controls Sub-system processes.
  • Support quality issue resolution and root cause analysis (RCA) related with Controls.
  • Prepare technical reporting and presentations for internal and external purpose, including design reviews and customer meetings.
  • Champion lean initiatives (e.g., JDIs, Kaizen, Projects) to simplify and improve efficiency and effectiveness of Controls SIL scope of work.

Required Qualifications

  • BSc/MSc in Engineering or Science from an accredited University.
  • Minimum of 5 years significant Wind Turbine product experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years design experience in Wind Turbine controls, operability, or systems engineering.
  • In-depth understanding of Wind Turbine product development and of the GEV New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
  • Strong systems and requirement engineering skills.
  • Effective time management and rigorous organization of work.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including ability to work across cultural boundaries in a global team.
  • Strong customer focus and basic understanding of customer business outcomes.

Desired Characteristics

  • Minimum of 10 years significant Wind Turbine product experience.
  • Experience with Controls Software and Hardware lifecycle product development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication including demonstrated ability to simplify complex topics and communicate to non-experts.
  • Track record of creating, improving, and maintaining design processes to improve quality.
  • Design or service experience with real time control systems such as the GE MarkVIe
