Job Description

As the Technical Leader (TL) for Controls Software Releases, you will orchestrate the integrated release operations for our MarkVIe Turbine Controls Software. You will ensure that software is delivered with rigorous quality standards, on schedule, and aligned with the evolving needs of our global fleet.

Reporting to the Controls Integration Leader, you will serve as a key technical focal point within the Controls Lifecycle Sub-system, fostering synergy between product engineering, services, and the customer to ensure seamless software delivery.

By supporting multiple, concurrent new products and an installed fleet of 40,000+ wind turbines, this role offers the opportunity to greatly contribute to deliver reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy to GE Vernova’s customers all over the world.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Release Strategy & Execution: Own the end-to-end strategy, scheduling, and execution of MarkVIe Turbine Control Software releases.
  • Technical Coordination: Provide technical oversight and cross-functional coordination for multiple concurrent software release streams.
  • Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with Product Management to prioritize software demand, ensuring release content is synchronized with product roadmaps and customer requirements.
  • Process Excellence: Drive continuous improvement of the release lifecycle, championing Lean initiatives to increase efficiency and speed-to-market.·
  • Quality & Support: Lead complex root cause analysis and technical resolution efforts for software-related quality issues.
  • Stakeholder Management: Prepare and present high-level technical reporting for internal leadership and external customers, including design reviews and project status updates.

Required Qualifications

  • BSc/MSc in Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of significant experience in Wind Turbine product development.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Controls Software development or operation.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively within a multi-cultural, globally distributed team.
  • Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage complex, concurrent projects.
  • Strong customer focus and basic understanding of customer business outcomes.

Desired Characteristics

  • Deep technical understanding of real-time control systems (specifically GE MarkVIe).
  • Demonstrated expertise in Wind Turbine controls, operability, or systems integration.
  • Advanced project management skills with a track record of implementing design processes that improve quality.
  • In-depth knowledge of GE Vernova’s Wind New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical topics for diverse stakeholder audiences.
