Technical Lead Security Engineer (m/f/d)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Lead product security engineering activities across the product lifecycle
• Provide technical guidance for secure design, implementation, validation, and risk mitigation
• Conduct threat analysis, security reviews, and risk assessments for products and systems
• Define and implement security requirements, processes, standards, and engineering best practices
• Support development teams in resolving complex security challenges and implementing security controls
• Evaluate and promote security tools, automation, and engineering efficiencies
• Contribute to product planning, security roadmaps, and technical decision-making
• Mentor engineers and promote security awareness through training and knowledge sharing

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• Master’s degree plus 8 years of relevant experience, Bachelor’s degree plus 9 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Relevant product security or information security experience, including cryptography, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), software and application security (AppSec), secure software development practices, and hardware-based security controls
• Demonstrates expertise in security engineering, threat analysis, risk assessment, secure design practices, security requirements, and risk mitigation
• Demonstrates ability to lead technical security initiatives, develop solutions to complex security challenges, and influence engineering decisions
• Demonstrates strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively and professionally under challenging circumstances
• Must possess detailed knowledge and experience with C, C++, C#, Rust, Python, and/or Java relevant to Garmin business needs
• Capable of mentoring junior engineers in security engineering practices
