This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Lead, Product Development based in India.
This role offers the opportunity to lead the technical direction and delivery of secure, scalable backend products used in demanding enterprise environments. You will combine hands-on engineering expertise with technical leadership across architecture, development, and production operations. The position focuses on Java-based services, REST APIs, distributed systems, and identity and authentication technologies. You will influence engineering standards while partnering closely with product, security, and platform teams. Your work will help strengthen system scalability, reliability, observability, and security. This is an impactful opportunity for an experienced technology leader who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and mentoring high-performing teams.
Accountabilities
- Lead the architecture, design, development, and delivery of scalable Java-based backend services and REST APIs.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture and design reviews, code reviews, technical decision-making, and mentoring.
- Drive the scalability, reliability, security, and resilience of distributed systems supporting enterprise-grade products.
- Collaborate with product, security, platform, and engineering stakeholders to define and deliver high-impact product capabilities.
- Establish and promote engineering best practices for zero-downtime deployments, observability, production operations, and system resilience.
- Contribute hands-on to complex technical initiatives while providing guidance and direction to product development teams.
- Help ensure backend solutions are maintainable, secure, highly available, and capable of operating reliably at scale.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software product development experience, including experience with products used at scale by customers.
- At least 5 years of experience serving as a technical lead for product development teams.
- Proven experience designing or developing identity, authentication, or related security platforms.
- Strong expertise in Java, distributed systems, backend architecture, and REST API design.
- Demonstrated experience designing and operating production-grade systems with high availability and zero-downtime deployment practices.
- Strong knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and/or NoSQL technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-based application deployments.
- Experience with system scalability, reliability, observability, and security engineering practices.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools and modern approaches to software development.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions and explain complex concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated mentoring capabilities and the ability to guide engineers toward strong technical and engineering outcomes.
