Technical Lead PostgreSQL / Senior Database Administrator

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead PostgreSQL / Senior Database Administrator to lead the implementation and daily management of a highly available enterprise database platform. You will be responsible for PostgreSQL architecture, high availability, disaster recovery, automation, and knowledge transfer while also supporting Oracle and MS SQL Server environments.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Design, implement, and manage a high-availability PostgreSQL platform.
• 
  Define and manage replication, backup, disaster recovery, and lifecycle strategies.
• 
  Automate database deployments using Ansible and related tools.
• 
  Provide Level 3 support for enterprise database platforms.
• 
  Develop database standards, procedures, and technology roadmaps.
• 
  Mentor and transfer knowledge to internal teams.
• 
  Support Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExACC) and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• 
  Monitor database performance and ensure platform reliability and security.

Required Skills & Experience

• 
  Strong expertise in PostgreSQL administration and architecture.
• 
  Experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
• 
  Knowledge of Ansible, Linux (Red Hat), and VMware vSphere
• 
  Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam preferred).
• 
  Familiarity with Grafana, Zabbix, ServiceNow, and ITIL practices.
• 
  Experience designing database roadmaps, standards, and operational procedures.
• 
  Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor colleagues.

Languages

• 
  Native or bilingual proficiency in Dutch or French
• 
  Full professional proficiency in English
• 
  Good knowledge of the second national language is an advantage.

Location

• Brussels, Belgium
• Hybrid – Minimum 3 days onsite per week, including every Monday
