Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead, Full-Stack Development to lead the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise applications. This is a hands-on technical leadership role. The successful candidate will be expected to actively write production-quality code, build APIs and integrations, troubleshoot complex issues, review code, and guide other developers.
The ideal candidate has strong experience delivering scalable application solutions and working across both front-end and back-end technologies.
This role will support a manufacturing-focused organization and may contribute to digital initiatives involving plant systems, data collection, MES, and shop floor connectivity. Prior Industrial IoT experience is highly desirable. The successful candidate should be willing to deepen their knowledge of IoT connectivity concepts and best practices and progressively take ownership of this area while collaborating with business and technical teams.
**Work Location and Schedule
This is a primarily remote position with an expectation of approximately one day per week on-site at TWB's Monroe, Michigan location. Candidates located in the Detroit metropolitan area or within a reasonable commuting distance are preferred.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a hands-on technical lead who designs, develops, tests, debugs, and maintains scalable enterprise applications while actively contributing production-quality code.
- Write high-quality code across front-end, back-end, API, database, and integration layers.
- Provide technical direction and make key decisions related to application architecture, solution design, development standards, and technology selection.
- Build responsive and user-friendly front-end solutions using frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Develop back-end services, APIs, and integrations using .NET and related technologies.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into practical and maintainable solutions.
- Design and maintain REST APIs and integrations between enterprise systems, databases, manufacturing platforms, and external services.
- Define coding standards, reusable components, shared libraries, design patterns, and development best practices.
- Review technical designs and code to ensure quality, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Balance technical leadership responsibilities with direct coding and delivery commitments.
- Support development planning, technical estimation, prioritization, and delivery execution.
- Support digital initiatives involving MES, plant systems, data collection, and shop floor connectivity.
- Learn and apply IoT connectivity concepts, integration patterns, and best practices.
- Progressively take ownership of the IoT connectivity area, including technical standards, solution design, documentation, and support practices.
- Work with cross-functional teams to support reliable and secure data exchange between connected systems.
- Lead the setup of a standardized container-based development environment for the TWB development team.
- Define the tools, configurations, templates, and practices needed to build, run, debug, and test containerized applications consistently.
- Create reusable Docker and Docker Compose configurations that support local development and testing, and contribute to Kubernetes-based deployment configurations as needed.
- Establish standards for dependency management, environment configuration, security, logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Create setup guides, onboarding materials, technical documentation, and support procedures.
- Train and mentor developers on full-stack development, container-based development, and software engineering best practices.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to improve build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
- Implement secure authentication, authorization, logging, monitoring, and error-handling practices.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across front-end, back-end, API, database, integration, container, and deployment layers.
- Maintain interface specifications, architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and support runbooks.
- Promote strong engineering practices through code reviews, testing standards, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with modern application development, cloud, DevOps, manufacturing technology, IoT, and AI-enabled development practices.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise application development.
- Demonstrated ability to remain hands-on with software development while providing technical leadership and mentoring.
- Strong recent experience writing production code across full-stack application layers.
- Experience leading technical design, architecture, development standards, and delivery for complex applications.
- Strong hands-on experience developing modern front-end applications using frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Strong back-end development experience using .NET and ASP.NET Core.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and maintaining REST APIs.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server and Oracle.
- Experience with Git and modern source control practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing container-based development environments for software teams.
- Experience establishing reusable development templates, local debugging workflows, documentation, and onboarding processes for containerized applications.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, security, and scalable application development.
- Experience mentoring developers and providing technical leadership.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting applications in a manufacturing environment, including MES integrations or related workflows.
- Experience with Industrial IoT, shop floor connectivity, equipment data collection, edge systems, or connected manufacturing solutions.
- Familiarity with technologies such as OPC UA, MQTT, Kepware, PLC-connected equipment, or similar connectivity platforms.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts, deployment patterns, and container orchestration.
- Experience with cloud platforms, event-driven architectures, messaging technologies, or near-real-time data solutions.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools or building generative AI solutions, including RAG pipelines, vector databases, embeddings, or LLM APIs.
