Job Description

Your Mission: As the Technical Lead, you will oversee and participate in the technical aspects of one of our products - BIST (a unique complex simulator for infantry training). You will ensure the successful delivery of high-quality, reliable solutions by working closely with our expert teams of designers, developers, and project managers, participating in product development from design specification and prototyping to final production and delivery. This role combines management of the project (app. 60%) and deep technical understanding and partially hands-on development (app . 40%). It will require a mix of leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of engineering principles.

About Us: Bagira Systems is a Czech-Israeli company with more than 110 employees in RnD centre in Brno, specialising in the development of unique training simulators (both software and hardware) for security forces. Our projects include the MAGNET system, which uses a laser system to replace blank cartridges and simulators for professional military devices. Our HW development is entirely based in Brno, while SW development is split between Brno and Israel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and drive the technical direction and vision for simulation and training platforms
• Make architecture and high-level design decisions
• Lead hands-on development, research, and prototyping
• Analyze new features and produce high-level technical designs
• Run stand-ups and agile ceremonies
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts between developers and operational stakeholders
• Plan and delegate technical tasks across the engineering team
• Write detailed work items and support test design and planning

Requirements:

• Min. 7 years of experience in SW development, including 2+ years in a leadership or product ownership role
• Strong C++ development expertise in gaming, simulations or computer vision
• Deep understanding of complex systems and network protocols
• Proficient in architectural design patterns and principles
• Experience with cloud-based systems
• Advantage - experience with VR/AR development for interactive training or simulation
• Advantage – experience with integrating HW devices (e.g., sensors, tracking systems) into simulation environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in fast-paced environments
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; proven ability to mentor and inspire teams
• Fluent in English and Czech/Slovak
