About the job:

We are seeking a hands-on Technical Lead to own cloud infrastructure and DevOps operations for the Health and Dental portfolio. This role combines technical delivery with team leadership, ensuring that the platform is reliable, secure, cost-effective and well supported.

The successful candidate will work directly with application teams to support service delivery, resolve production issues and make sound infrastructure decisions.

Team Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage two employees supporting the Health and Dental portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage two employees, providing technical direction, coaching, work prioritization and oversight of delivery.
• Own AWS infrastructure, defined and managed through infrastructure as code.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines covering build, testing, security scanning and deployment.
• Operate containerized production workloads, including health checks, rolling deployments and autoscaling.
• Own backup and disaster recovery procedures, including regular restore testing.
• Configure and maintain AWS load balancers and Nginx.
• Manage access controls, IAM policies and secrets, and coordinate vulnerability remediation.
• Maintain monitoring and alerting, and lead calm, methodical incident response and troubleshooting.
• Monitor and optimize cloud spending, making clear, reasoned tradeoffs between cost, reliability, security and operational effort.
• Work closely with application teams to troubleshoot services, coordinate releases and address infrastructure dependencies.
• Document operational procedures, maintain technical standards and promote knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Hands-on AWS experience, including EC2, ECS, ECR, RDS, ACM, ALB/NLB, Secrets Manager, IAM, S3, CloudWatch and Cloud Map.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Solid understanding of networking, including DNS, routing, firewalls, TLS and load balancing.
• Experience managing infrastructure as code with Terraform and/or OpenTofu.
• Experience with Docker, including building, maintaining and troubleshooting container images.
• Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or equivalent.
• Experience with DNS management, preferably Cloudflare.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Zabbix.
• Familiarity with Jira or equivalent ticketing and work-management systems.
• Ability to read unfamiliar application code, particularly Java/Spring and Node.js, to support troubleshooting.
• Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring team members.

Preferred Qualifications

• Windows administration experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365, including email accounts.
• Familiarity with employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including access provisioning and removal.
