What you will do
Technical lead – Applied Chiller The technical lead will be part of the team responsible for managing and leading a team of mechanical and electrical design engineers focused for product development and sustenance of JCI Global products. He/she will have the skills that will meet the job demands for this year’s projects. The technical lead must possess the ability to self‐start with limited guidance. The technical lead will work alongside other engineering teams, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, and IT related personnel. This individual to hold meetings regularly to update activities and milestones. Manage engineering documentation, including BOMs, CAD models, and technical specifications. Evaluate and implement methodologies to enhance errorfree deliverables and CAD automation to improve individual productivity. Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a high performance team culture. The primary focus for this technical lead will be to lead the innovation to the chiller, design reviews, implement new processes ensuring quality and timeliness design release of the product development and manufacturing drawings for self and other team members.
How you will do it
Design & Development of commercial and industrial chillers & their components.
• A creative flair and design ability as per application.
• Build and motivate team to follow standard procedures and practices for engineering works.
• Ensure timely delivery of engineering documentation to meet internal and external project schedules.
• Guarantee product compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with procurement and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for cost effectiveness and manufacturability.
• Manage project schedules, identify risks, and ensure successful delivery of engineering milestones.
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement in product design and development processes.
• Provide technical mentorship and support to junior engineers within the team.
What we look for
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in industrial refrigeration product design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and refrigeration cycles. • Familiarity with global compliance and certification standards (UL, CE, ASME, etc.).
• Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Creo) & Windchill
• Experience with product development processes, DFMEA, DVP&R, and stage-gate methodologies.
• Excellent communication, project management, and team leadership skills.
