Requirement for an experienced AWS Engineer with strong expertise in Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) and Terraform to manage, support, and optimize cloud-native applications running on AWS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining Kubernetes platforms, automating infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), troubleshooting production incidents, and supporting CI/CD pipelines.

This role requires hands-on operational experience with EKS on AWS, Kubernetes administration, Terraform-based infrastructure management, containerized workloads, and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

Amazon EKS & Kubernetes Operations

• Manage and support Amazon EKS clusters across development, staging, and production environments.
• Monitor Kubernetes cluster health, node utilization, pod performance, and resource optimization.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes deployment, networking, storage, and application issues.
• Perform Kubernetes version upgrades, node group upgrades, and cluster maintenance.
• Configure autoscaling, ingress controllers, namespaces, RBAC, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and persistent storage.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of Kubernetes environments.

Terraform (Primary Skill)

• Manage infrastructure using Terraform.
• Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
• Perform Terraform planning, validation, deployment, and state management.
• Troubleshoot Terraform deployments and infrastructure drift.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to automate infrastructure provisioning.

CI/CD & DevOps

• Support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or other CI/CD platforms.
• Troubleshoot deployment failures.
• Automate build and deployment workflows.
• Work closely with development teams for release management.
• Maintain deployment standards and rollback procedures.

Monitoring & Incident Management

• Monitor platform health using CloudWatch and Kubernetes monitoring tools.
• Respond to production alerts and incidents.
• Perform L2/L3 troubleshooting.
• Conduct RCA and implement preventive measures.
• Participate in on-call rotation.

Security & Compliance

• Implement Kubernetes security best practices.
• Manage IAM roles and policies.
• Support secrets management.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security standards.
• Perform vulnerability remediation for container images.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong experience managing Amazon EKS in production.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for AWS infrastructure automation.
• Experience with Kubernetes troubleshooting.
• Docker container management.
• AWS cloud operations experience.
• GitHub-based source control.
• CI/CD implementation and support.
• Linux system administration.
• Python or Shell scripting.
