Job Description

As an experienced senior software engineer you will be responsible for designing and building solutions and components using JavaScript frameworks, Python, AWS technologies (Redshift, Aurora, Glue etc.) and other technologies for enterprise scale multi-user applications.


• Provide technical leadership and day-to-day engineering guidance to the development team.
• Lead solution design from high-level architecture through detailed application, API, data, integration, and workflow design.
• Design and develop scalable, reliable, cloud-hosted enterprise applications and services using technologies such as AWS, Python, .NET Core/C#, Java, and PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate closely with Software Architects, Product Owners, Product Management, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Ensure solutions align with established architecture, security, design, quality, and engineering standards.
• Understand and evolve existing product architecture, data flows, database design, integrations, and workflows.
• Identify complex technical, application, and data problems; evaluate alternatives and implement pragmatic solutions.
• Lead performance, scalability, reliability, and production troubleshooting activities across application, middleware, and database components.
• Design and develop REST APIs, backend services, data-processing components, and integrations required by the product.
• Apply appropriate software design patterns, object-oriented design principles, automated testing, and engineering best practices.
• Conduct design and code reviews and mentor engineers to improve technical quality and engineering capability across the team.
• Work with the team to identify technical risks, dependencies, and technical debt and drive appropriate remediation.
• Contribute hands-on to development, debugging, and resolution of technically complex issues when required.
• Support the design and implementation of insurance and risk-management business functionality, including data-intensive and analytical capabilities.


• B.S. in Math, EE, CS or Software Engineering; M.S preferred.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in development of commercial-grade software products.
• 4+ years of Experience with AWS technologies (AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, S3,)
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Strong understanding of AWS services and infrastructure, deploying and managing applications on AWS.
• 6+ years of proven experience in developing and supporting applications using .NET Core, C#, and Python.
• 4+ years of proven experience in developing in Angular.
• Experience with Angular/React is a plus.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience with services relevant to the team's architecture and workloads.
• Experience designing distributed, asynchronous, and data-intensive cloud solutions.
• Ability to develop use cases for business requirements.
• Effective collaboration with stakeholders, especially Product Management, on feature requirements and project schedules.
• Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Enthusiasm, energy, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Fast learner, keen to learn, and ensure software adherence to established architecture, design, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
