Technical Lead

Johnson Controls(JCI)is searching for ahighly skilledand experienced Technical Leadtolead a team of developers and testers on theconstruction of JCI’s internal and customerfacing web and mobile applicationsTheideal candidatewill have8+ years of technical leadershipcapable of driving development and testing efforts in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

The Technical Leadwillprovide technical leadership as wedesign andbuildrobust, elastic, and maintainablemobile and web-basedapplications.Youmustbe a self-starterhavinga thorough understanding ofSpring Boot,REST and SOAP services,ReactJS,Oracle or comparableRDBMSsystems,SQL,Microsoft Azuresoftware development and deployment tools,design patterns, and deployment strategies

Youwillreport to the Customer ExperienceEngineering Managerand work closely withProduct Owners,Scrum Master,Solutions Delivery Leads,SolutionsArchitects, and partner companiesas we deliverfresh and modern customer experience portals and mobile solutionstoJohnson Controls North America customers.

The following areas are expected of theTechnical Lead

• Technical Leadership Lead end-to-end design, development, and deployment of scalable web applications using modern front-end (ReactJS), back-end (Java/SpringBoot), RDBMS (Preferably Oracle) technologies.

• Architecture & Strategy Define system architecture, ensure code quality, and drive adoption of best practices in performance, security, and maintainability.

• Team ManagementLeaddevelopersand testers, conduct code reviews, and foster a collaborative environment to deliver projects on time.

• Innovation & Upskilling Stay updated with emerging technologies, introduce new tools/frameworks, and upskill the team tomaintaina competitive edge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experiencerequired, specializing in computer science, engineering,orrelatedfield

• Minimum8+ years of experienceleading technical teams andarchitectingweband mobile applications

• Strong experience with building complex web and mobile applications using onshore and offshore developers

• Strong experience with providing technical guidelinesto developers andperforming code reviews

• Strong experience with ReactJS and Spring Boot development

• Strong experience in design,construction, and deployment of REST and SOAP services

• Strong experience withOracle or comparable RDMBS,SQL, and creating stored procedures

• Experience with cloud platforms (with a strong preference for Microsoft Azure)

• Experience withMicrosoft Azure App Services, REDIS cache, and othercloud-based development tools

• Experience with AI development tools,e.g.GitHub Copilot

• Experience withincorporating Okta authentication and authorization into web and mobile applications

• Experience withtroubleshooting andsolvingapplicationmemory and performance issues

• Experience with WebSphere Portal(HCL DX), WebSphere Application Server, and WebSphere Content Manager, a plus

• Experience withJavaServerPages (JSP) andJavaServerFaces (JSF), a plus

• Experience with Agile/Scrum development practices and concepts

• Excellentcommunicationandteamworkskills

• Experience anddesireto work within a fast-paced, iterative development environment
