What you will do:
Reporting to the Manager, Software Development, the Technical Lead will be responsible for building and evolving digital experiences across brands like Cineplex, Cineplex Store, and The Rec Room, shaping the next generation of products at an iconic Canadian company. Working within a high-performing product squad, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable web applications. You will provide technical leadership across your team and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to deliver new features and continuously enhance the customer experience. With strong expertise in the software development lifecycle and quality engineering, you will champion agile practices, guide architectural decisions, and ensure high standards in code quality and delivery.
This is a hybrid position (3 days in the office per week). Office location is 1303 Yonge Street, Toronto.
Responsibilities
Lead your team in delivering high-quality, scalable code – owning standards, best practices, and overall technical excellence
Partner closely with Product, Design, and Architecture to shape the roadmap and proactively manage risks, dependencies, and delivery milestones
Review code with peers, offering clear, constructive feedback to continuously raise the bar on quality
Drive sprint execution by prioritizing work, tracking progress, and communicating updates within your agile team
Contribute to technical discussions, share ideas, and continuously expand your skill set with new technologies
Create and maintain clear technical documentation to support your team’s success and long-term maintainability
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent field
8+ years experience building full stack web applications
Proven experience building and integrating scalable web applications using .NET/C#, RESTful APIs (including OAuth), and ORM tools such as Entity Framework
Hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks (ideally React and TypeScript), along with strong HTML, CSS, and SASS skills
Strong foundation in web-based software architecture and a deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle for web applications
Experience working with CI/CD tools and practices to support efficient, reliable delivery
Experience with Azure cloud platforms and agile development tools (e.g., DevOps, Jira) is preferred
Experience applying accessibility standards and conducting web application performance optimization is preferred
