About Fidelity Dalian

Established in 2007, FIL Technology (Dalian) Limited was the Fidelity’s first wholly owned enterprise in China. The Dalian office initially served as a systems development centre to bolster Fidelity’s growing business in the Asia Pacific region, with a primary focus on providing technology and web-based support and services. The office has continued to expand in recent years and now acts as the central service hub for the Asia Pacific region supporting multiple business functions including systems development and support, systems infrastructure support, retail operations, finance accounting services and investment administration & fund accounting.

Team Description

Our team provides comprehensive technical support and solutions for the Hong Kong Customer Service Department by providing SmartRetire mobile APP, covering Fidelity Hong Kong WI and PI business. We focus on delivering stable, efficient, and customer‑centric services to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional customer experience across the entire Hong Kong market.

About you role

As a Technical Lead in the Mobile App Development team, you will drive the architecture, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise-grade digital products. This is a hands-on full stack leadership role with a strong emphasis on Angular for frontend/mobile development and Java (Spring Boot) for backend services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end technical delivery of mobile app features from architecture through production release.
  • Own frontend architecture and standards with Angular, including module design, routing, state management, performance optimization, and maintainability.
  • Design and implement scalable, secure backend services and APIs using Java/Spring Boot.
  • Define and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and architecture principles.
  • Guide technical decisions, balancing delivery speed, quality, security, and long-term maintainability.
  • Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and uplift team capability through coaching and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, QA, UX, Security, and DevOps to deliver roadmap commitments.
  • Drive quality engineering practices including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing; champion CI/CD and release governance.
  • Lead production incident triage, root-cause analysis, and preventive improvement actions.
  • Improve application reliability, performance, observability, and developer productivity.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and career development of engineering talent.

Experience and Qualifications Required

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
  • Strong hands-on Angular experience in enterprise applications (Angular architecture, RxJS, NgRx or equivalent, lazy loading, performance tuning, testing).
  • Strong hands-on Java development experience (Spring/Spring Boot preferred) for API and microservices development.
  • Solid experience with TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, and responsive/mobile-first UI development.
  • Experience delivering mobile applications (iOS/Android/hybrid frameworks such as Ionic/Cordova/Capacitor).
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, API security, and authentication/authorization (OAuth2, JWT).
  • Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Business level of English.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration capability..

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Ionic and Angular-based hybrid mobile app delivery.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Experience with frontend observability, performance monitoring, and web/mobile analytics.
  • Knowledge of domain-driven design and micro-frontend or modular frontend architecture.
  • Experience working with Hong Kong business and development teams.
