Support Project Managers in the technical execution of projects by preparing engineering documentation, coordinating technical exchanges with customers, and contributing to system design and testing activities (PREFAT/FAT/SAT).
Assist commercial and tendering teams in defining technical solutions during bid phases. Ensure compliance with safety (EHS) standards and actively promote a strong safety culture across projects.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Assistance to project Manager:
Technical support to project managers;
Participate to technical meetings with customers;
Participate to project reviews meeting at Project Manager request.
Project Execution:
Collect technical data from customers, or in customer’s specifications get during tendering phase;
Visit customer substations for collection of data when useful;
Draw up following technical documents/files : IO list, Protection logic diagram, architecture, hardware specification, cubicle specification + other requested technical documents requested for the project and manage technical discussions/validation with customer;
Support Engineering team for development of DCS system specification, HMI principles specification and/or HMI detailed views specification and manage technical discussions/validation with customer;
Draw up PREFAT, FAT and SAT functional test sheets and manage technical discussions/validation with customer;
Support Project Manager for draw up of FAT program & procedure;
Assist engineering team and/or subcontractor for draw up of wiring diagrams and lay-out f cubicles;
Check and validate wiring diagrams en lay-out of cubicles and manage technical discussions/validation with customer;
Assist Services team during PREFAT, FAT and SAT.
Technical support for commercial and Tendering teams:
Assist commercial and Tendering team to define technical offers (technical solution, type of equipment…);
Estimate time necessary for Study part;
Assist commercial and Tendering team during meetings with customer during tendering phase;
Participate activelly to EHS culture;
Participate to trainings related to PM function;
Organize and participate to potential Team Safety Visit put in place for managed project;
Participate to Hierachical Safety Visit (in GEV premises or on customer sites);
Participate to internal GEV meetings;
Wear PPE following GEV instructions;
Report to Management any EHS deviations/near miss/incident/accident;
Promote strict respect of GEV EHS rules and instructions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Skills
Knowledge in high-voltage substation protection and control systems;
Knowledge of protection relays, protection schemes (distance, differential, overcurrent, busbar protection, etc.), and substation automation systems;
Understanding of communication protocols and standards used in substations (e.g., IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, Modbus);
Experience reviewing and validating engineering documentation and technical designs;
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;
Good communication skills;
Fluent in Dutch & English; additional languages are an asset;
VCA certified;
Driver’s licence.
