Long-term assignment (initial 24 months with multiple extension options)
We are seeking a Technical Installation Advisor to support the maintenance, repair, and modification of technical installations related to weirs and locks. The role focuses on ensuring quality, reliability, and continuous improvement of infrastructure systems within a safety-critical environment.
You will work closely with technical management and contractors, overseeing execution, identifying risks, and providing expert technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise maintenance, repair, and modification activities carried out by contractors
Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with technical and quality standards
Evaluate and monitor system performance, identifying failures and improvement opportunities
Assess and oversee technical modifications and work plans
Provide technical advice on execution methods, sequencing, and implementation
Ensure proper documentation, inspection records, and final acceptance processes
Monitor risks, bottlenecks, and deviations, and propose corrective actions
Support renewal and improvement programs with technical expertise
Oversee third-party assessments and ensure quality of delivered work
Quality & Compliance
Perform quality control inspections in line with inspection plans and standards
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of inspection processes
Safeguard adherence to technical guidelines and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field
Knowledge of:
Technical materials and execution processes
Engineering standards and technical guidelines (E&W)
Reading and interpreting technical drawings
Basic knowledge of safety-critical automation environments or ability to quickly acquire it
Valid VCA-VOL certification (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)
Preferred Experience & Skills
Experience with RAMS methodology (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety)
Minimum 5 years of experience in quality inspections within infrastructure or technical projects
Familiarity with public sector or large-scale infrastructure processes
Experience in:
Requirements gathering and documentation
Cost estimation
Multidisciplinary understanding of mechanical and/or civil engineering systems
Strong analytical capability to assess technical information and guide development processes
