Description:

Prepare illustrations used in the development of technical manuals, supplements, and other technical documentation as needed.What you will be responsible for:

  • Research and review engineering drawings, engineering orders, and related technical data defining aircraft modifications and component specifications and determine their effect on technical illustrations used in ART documents.
  • Develop expertise in technical illustration methods used at ART.
  • Uphold FAA, EASA, customer, and ART standards of quality.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Technical Publications department procedures related to illustrations including quality control, workflow, and tools.
  • Develop strong understanding of ART policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate in a professional manner with internal customers to promote and support organizational business interests.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Minimum of Associates degree in Visual Arts or related technical field or relevant work experience may be substituted.
  • One (1) years’ experience as a technical illustrator.
  • Must have good oral, written, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be fluent in English read, write, speak and understand.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, and Illustrator applications (or equivalents) preferred.
  • Familiarity with AutoCad design and drafting software preferred.
  • Aircraft-related technical illustration experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with aircraft technical manuals such as MM, IPC, SRM, etc. and the ATA iSpec 2200 format preferred.

  • Normal duties involve filing as well as typical office duties that involve stretching, reaching, and stooping with lifting typically limited to 10-20 lbs. maximum.
  • Normal or corrected hearing and vision are required.
