The Functional Lead – UKG WFM & Payroll is a strategic and technical role responsible for leading the design, optimisation, and governance of our workforce management and payroll ecosystems. Acting as the key subject matter expert, you will engage with multi-layered stakeholder groups to deliver robust, compliant, and innovative solutions across UKG Pro Workforce Management and the integrations with SAP SuccessFactors various modules and SAP BTP.
Reporting to the Group Solution Manager - People Systems, you will own the solution roadmap, ensuring our Scheduling, Rostering, Time & Attendance (RTA), and Pay processes directly support our overarching people strategy and operational efficiency goals.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:
Provide Tier 3 defect / query escalation support to the Team Services - People Systems team and Operations, analysing and troubleshooting configuration issues, pay calculation discrepancies, and integration errors
Lead the strategic roadmap, continuous improvement, and feature adoption for UKG WFM. Partner with the Team Services - People Systems team to understand key business drivers and strategies to Ddrive the optimisation of Scheduling, Rostering, Leave and Time & Attendance modules.
Provide application continuous improvement and deliver upgrades/projects to maintain UKG WFM business solutions as well as the integration with SuccessFactors Employee Central, Learning and Employee Central Payroll, as well as BTP.
Proactively engage with multi-layered stakeholder groups to understand business needs. Analyse and translate business needs into UKG WFM solutions and initiatives by either managing some components of large initiatives/projects or all components of small to medium sized initiatives/projects.
Ensure all UKG WFM and Payroll processes strictly adhere to organizational policies, legislative requirements, Modern Awards, and EBAs. Lead compliance auditing within the systems.
Spearhead research and development initiatives to leverage new UKG capabilities. Stay ahead of vendor release cycles (including UKG release management) to drive continuous innovation and automation.
Manage system testing, training, user acceptance and validation testing of solutions and production changes and upgrades to applications and systems
Maintain compliance to audit, application security, application roles design and segregation of duties findings
Manage governance and release of system changes to production
Now let’s talk about you:
Minimum 5 years’ (5+) in designing and/or implementing UKG WFM / Kronos
Extensive expertise in interpreting complex Awards, EBAs, and labor laws, and translating them into automated UKG pay rules and work rules.
Deep technical knowledge in Dataviews, Hyper find queries, workforce Genies and calendars, Data Access control concepts, schedule rules, work rule and integration jobs
Experience with managing Kronos periodical Releases
Migration, Troubleshooting experience in Workforce Integration Manager, Integration through API's
Strong understanding of WFM-to-Payroll integration, specifically mapping UKG time data into SAP SF EC payroll.
Experience with application security: Roles design and authorizations matrix including mapping of business roles to transactions
Experience with service management tools e.g. ServiceNow and Level 2/3 Support processes.
Knowledge in SAP Payroll configuration is desirable
Experience in Retail desirable
Demonstrate ability to quickly establish strong working relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of business and IT stakeholders from senior management to operational staff including external vendors both on and off shore
