The Role

We are looking for a Technical Solutions Estimator to join our team based in Tonsley.

This role is ideal for:

• Electricians looking to transition off the tools
• Industrial or automation technicians
• Estimators from electrical contracting backgrounds
• Tradespeople wanting to move into a technical office-based role
• Engineers with practical site experience

You’ll work closely with our Solutions, Engineering, and Business Development teams to help develop technical proposals and cost estimates for industrial electrical, control systems, and energy management projects.

This is a hands-on technical and commercial role where practical industry knowledge is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare proposals, quotations, and cost estimates for customer projects.
• Review customer requirements and help develop practical technical solutions.
• Assist with equipment selection, system layouts, and scope development.
• Work with engineers and project teams to ensure estimates are commercially and technically aligned.
• Support proposal submissions and customer communications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Electrical trade qualification, technical diploma, or engineering background.
• Experience in industrial electrical, automation, control systems, switchboards, or energy projects.
• Exposure to estimating, quoting, project coordination, or technical sales.
• Strong practical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word.

Desirable

• Industrial controls or PLC exposure.
• AutoCAD or electrical drawing exposure.
• Experience working with electrical contractors or industrial projects.
• Understanding of energy management or power systems.
