In this role, you'll:


Work as part of a team providing education, guidance and instruction relating to registrable vehicles to ensure the safety and consistent regulation of vehicles in NSW.


The advice you give will relate to vehicle compliance, modifications, inspections and enforcement, and be given to a diverse customer base including Authorised Inspection Scheme (AIS) examiners, Vehicle Safety Compliance Certification Scheme (VSCCS) certifiers, Service NSW, and vehicle owners.


To ensure the accuracy of this advice you will remain up to date with complex regulatory legislation, procedures and policies through research and cooperation with other subject matter experts.


As this is a hybrid role you will be required to attend a Transport for NSW office a minimum of 50% of the time, with 25% of that time attending the Parramatta office.

About you


You have a foundational understanding of vehicle safety and compliance, and experience working in a customer-centric role relating to the inspection or regulation or compliance of motor vehicles.


You are recognised as a team player with excellent communication and time-management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines in a front-line structured environment.

You are reasonably proficient at using computers and maintaining databases as a regular part of your work duties.


You apply your excellent research and comprehension skills in solving complex issues to achieve balanced outcomes for your customers.


You have either a recognised automotive mechanical trade qualification (minimum of Certificate II in automotive mechanical) or experience working in a role connected to the regulation of vehicles.
