The Technical Engineer JNY provides engineering and technical execution support to the design, integration, testing, fielding, and sustainment of Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) The individual applies technical expertise to ensure systems meet operational training requirements, technical specifications, and lifecycle performance objectives.
Responsibilities include supporting engineering analyses of TADSS capabilities; assisting with development and review of technical requirements, specifications, interface control documents, and system documentation; and supporting system integration activities across hardware, software, networks, and training enablers. The Technical Engineer participates in technical interchange meetings, design reviews, and working groups to identify risks, resolve issues, and ensure technical alignment with objectives.
Additional duties include supporting test and evaluation activities; assisting with data collection, analysis, and reporting; supporting configuration and change management activities; and contributing to development of technical reports, briefings, and acquisition artifacts. The role collaborates closely with systems engineers, test engineers, military doctrine analysts, acquisition analysts, logisticians, and leadership to ensure technical solutions effectively support Army training outcomes.
The Technical Engineer provides practical, hands-on engineering insight and recommendations to improve system performance, interoperability, maintainability, and training effectiveness across portfolios.
