Role Summary

We are looking for a Technical Development Lead to own the technical strategy, hands-on development, and delivery of Lifepro's connected fitness ecosystem across iOS, Android, Tuya, and the Copilot/Star platform. Connected products are how Chai Vision turns one-time buyers into an engaged, returning community, so the quality and reliability of the app experience directly shapes retention, repeat purchase, and brand trust.

You will translate business priorities into scalable technical solutions and drive execution from factory hardware and firmware readiness through to app release, covering architecture, mobile development, vendor coordination, quality, and release readiness. The role is lean and efficiency-driven: a dedicated UX resource owns design and QA supports testing, but you remain accountable for engineering quality and step in wherever needed to protect the customer experience. As the connected product portfolio grows, you will build and lead a development team.

What You'll Do

Technical Strategy & Ownership

• Own technical architecture, development standards, and the technical roadmap aligned with business priorities.
• Evaluate platform capabilities, integration approaches, and technical tradeoffs, and recommend solutions with clear implications for cost, reliability, and scalability.
• Own release readiness, technical risk management, and ongoing application performance.

Mobile Development & Integration

• Build and maintain production applications across iOS and Android using Flutter and React Native.
• Implement and troubleshoot native functionality in Swift and Kotlin, including BLE, Wi-Fi provisioning, permissions, notifications, and platform-specific behavior.
• Integrate Tuya SDK capabilities for pairing, device control, status reporting, and OTA firmware updates.
• Integrate Copilot/Star APIs for data synchronization and cloud features.
• Manage builds, CI/CD, App Store and Google Play submissions, and production issue resolution.

Delivery & Partner Coordination

• Translate requirements and UX designs into actionable tasks with acceptance criteria, estimates, and dependencies.
• Own sprint planning and keep priorities, ownership, and timelines accurate in Monday.com.
• Coordinate factories on firmware, connectivity compatibility, module certification documentation, and sample readiness.
• Coordinate Tuya configuration and Copilot/Star dependencies, escalating risks with options and recommendations.

UX & Quality

• Guide UX on technical feasibility, pairing and control flows, error handling, and platform consistency.
• Partner with QA on test coverage, physical-device testing, regression testing, and defect resolution.
• Step in with hands-on testing, issue reproduction, and release validation when needed.

AI & Team Development

• Use AI-assisted development to accelerate implementation, testing, documentation, and code review, while validating correctness, security, and hardware behavior.
• Maintain technical documentation and establish development practices that support future hiring, onboarding, and team leadership.
• Mentor developers and help build the team as headcount grows.

Who You Are

• You have 5+ years of experience delivering production mobile applications across both iOS and Android.
• You are a strategic technical leader who stays hands-on with code, troubleshooting, and delivery.
• You are comfortable owning both iOS and Android applications and their connected hardware integrations.
• You turn business goals into clear technical plans, priorities, and implementation decisions.
• You are proactive in coordinating factories, platform providers, and internal stakeholders across time zones.
• You are prepared to mentor developers and build a team over time.
• You thrive in a high-growth, multi-brand environment where scope shifts and ownership is broad.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience delivering production mobile applications across iOS and Android.
• Strong hands-on proficiency in Flutter/Dart and React Native/TypeScript, with native Swift and Kotlin development and debugging capability.
• Experience integrating Tuya or comparable IoT SDKs, including BLE/Wi-Fi provisioning and connected-device control.
• Strong understanding of mobile architecture, REST APIs, real-time messaging, authentication, and secure data handling.
• Ability to own technical planning, sprint execution, and dependencies across manufacturers and platform providers.
• Practical QA capability, including test planning, physical-device validation, regression testing, and defect investigation.
• Experience with Git, code reviews, CI/CD, and App Store / Google Play release processes.
• A demonstrated AI-assisted development workflow with critical review and validation of generated code.
• Clear written communication and the ability to guide technical, UX, and business stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Direct experience with Tuya cloud projects, DP configuration, Smart App SDK, or MiniApps.
• Experience integrating Copilot/Star platform APIs.
• Background working with consumer electronics factories in China.
• Familiarity with BLE GATT, OTA firmware workflows, and fitness-device data.
• Experience in connected fitness, wellness, or consumer hardware applications.
• Experience recruiting, mentoring, or managing developers.
