We are looking for a specialist who is passionate about identifying opportunities, developing new solutions, and bringing them into practice where they create measurable value for the operation of ON’s power plants.
The position is part of the Technical Development department, which is responsible for development and investment projects, pre-engineering activities, and continuous improvement initiatives that shape both the current operations and the future development of ON’s power plants.
As a Technical Development & Innovation Specialist, you will combine technical expertise, analysis, modelling, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and support the implementation of operational improvements.
In this role, you will work with new technologies, data utilization, automation, and artificial intelligence where they can create value for power plant operations. You will also perform operational analysis and participate in a wide range of development and innovation projects that touch on most aspects of power plant operations.
The position offers the opportunity to work on projects from initial concepts and technical analysis through testing, evaluation, and implementation, in close collaboration with specialists and multidisciplinary teams across the company.

Orka náttúrunnar (ON) generates electricity and hot water from its geothermal power plants at Hellisheiði and Nesjavellir, as well as hydroelectric power from Andakílsá Power Station.
