Our Product Ecosystem: Tekla software solutions are the global standard for advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) and structural engineering. From massive cast-in-place concrete structures to complex precast components and high-density reinforcement detailing, Tekla drives structural lifecycle efficiency from design to the job site.
In this role, you will transition from a day-to-day detailer or modeller into a highly valued structural subject matter expert. Operating within our state-of-the-art hubs in Chennai or Navi Mumbai, you will have the technical autonomy to reverse-engineer software anomalies, troubleshoot localized configurations, and configure cross-platform cloud integrations. You will work closely with global helpdesks and act as a crucial voice-of-the-customer, directly collaborating with Trimble’s Product Development teams to advocate for product updates and eliminate architectural bottlenecks.
Complex Modeling Resolution: Provide clear, step-by-step technical guidance to resolve advanced structural modeling and parametric geometry issues faced by global engineering accounts.
Database & Catalog Orchestration: Manage, audit, and troubleshoot intricate software databases, custom reinforcement catalogs, and automated Bar Bending Schedules (BBS).
Deliverable Configuration Support: Assist detailers in configuring and optimizing General Arrangement (GA) drawings, Cast Unit drawings, automated rebar schedules, and custom Template Editor (.tpl) reports.
Environment Architecture Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve localized company environment bugs, including custom parametric components, complex drawing layouts, custom attributes, and enterprise firm/project folder paths.
Cloud & Interoperability Engineering: Support collaborative cloud workspaces by resolving interoperability bottlenecks across Trimble Connect, Tekla Model Sharing, and open BIM data exchanges (IFC, DWG, DXF, BVBS).
Bug Replication & Product Escalation: Systematically replicate user-reported software errors, document system limitations, and escalate unresolved code defects to global development teams while populating internal knowledge bases.
Professional Experience: 4+ years of direct, hands-on experience utilizing or supporting Tekla Structures. Highly preferred experience operating within an RCC, Precast detailing, or high-fidelity BIM production environment.
Technical Deep-Dive Mastery: Complete mastery of Tekla Structures software functionality, system configurations, directory folders, detailing standards, and reinforcement modules.
Diagnostic Capabilities: Strong analytical and diagnostic skills with a proven capability to investigate system logs, reverse-engineer software errors, and troubleshoot severe system crashes under pressure.
Communication & Deadline Focus: Exceptional, patient, and highly professional written and verbal communication skills to deliver technical solutions clearly to users working under strict engineering deadlines.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
Workflow Automation Tooling: Practical knowledge or script exposure to Tekla Open API, C#, or Grasshopper for parametric workflow automation.
Advanced Component Customization: Direct experience developing complex parametric Custom Components and custom software macros.
Cross-Domain Competency: Prior structural background or foundational workflow knowledge in structural steel detailing and fabrication logic.
