
Technical Coordinator – Passenger Train Help Desk – Green Square, NSW
We're looking for a Technical Coordinator to join our team at Green Square, Alexandria, NSW and become the critical link between train operations, fleet controllers and maintenance teams. This role would suit candidates from a variety of backgrounds including rail, transport, maintenance planning, operations coordination, fleet maintenance, technical support, engineering support, defence, aviation or other operational environments.
About the Role
Reporting to the Planning & Logistics Manager, you will be the first point of contact for operational issues impacting the New Intercity Fleet in service.
Working within the Rail Operations Centre, you'll coordinate communication and technical responses between train drivers, NSCC Fleet Controllers and maintenance teams to ensure issues are resolved safely and efficiently.
As a key member of the operations support team, you'll help minimise fleet downtime through effective fault coordination, maintenance prioritisation and stakeholder communication.
This position operates on a 24/7 rotating roster comprising 12-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary contact point for the UGL Help Desk.
Receive, record and coordinate responses to operational fleet issues
Support fault identification, diagnosis and rectification activities.
Liaise closely with train crews, Fleet Controllers and maintenance personnel.
Prioritise maintenance requests and operational activities.
Monitor fleet performance and support service recovery activities.
Maintain accurate records and reporting within operational systems.
Contribute to planning activities that support fleet availability and reliability.
