Technical Consultant (Tech Con)

The Technical Consultant is responsible for supporting data conversions, system implementations, testing, and client-facing technical activities. This role requires strong SQL expertise, the ability to work independently, and clear communication with non-technical end users. The consultant will collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure successful project delivery within established timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform data conversions and validation across multiple database platforms o C# skills (required)
    • Fluency in C#
    • Comfortable with tools: Visual Studio
    • Git/version control
  • Impresa on Microsoft SQL Server (required)
  • Develop, modify, and support custom Crystal Reports using Crystal Reports and SQL
  • Support system implementations and testing activities, including:
    • Azure environment fundamentals o IIS setup and configuration
    • Windows system configuration and troubleshooting
      • Mapped drives
      • Basic networking concepts
      • Active Directory
      • Parallels setup
      • Remote Desktop (RDP) troubleshooting
  • Prepare and manage backups and test environments
  • Coordinate technical efforts with third-party vendors and internal teams
  • Produce clear technical and system documentation
  • Communicate effectively with clients throughout project lifecycles, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Manage time effectively and work against defined project timelines
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in a technical consulting, implementation, or systems support role

Technical Skills (Required):

  • Strong SQL skills (non-negotiable)
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Crystal Reports development and customization
  • Windows server and workstation configuration
  • Experience with C#
  • Experience with Visual Studio
  • IIS setup and support
  • Data conversion and validation experience

Communication & Professional Skills (Required):

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (non-negotiable)
  • Clear, professional English communication with American end users who may have little to no technical background
  • Ability to gather requirements, explain solutions, and manage expectations

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with C#
  • Comfortable with tools: Visual Studio
  • Azure fundamentals or hands-on exposure
  • Experience coordinating with third-party vendors
  • Familiarity with implementation and UAT testing processes

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Comfortable speaking directly with clients in a professional services environment
  • Work 8am Central Time Zone to 5pm Central Time Zone
