Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide quality teaching in assigned field of study toa very diversestudent population inboth lecture and laboratorysettings.
Develop and revise instructional materials for both lecture and laboratorycourses.
Assess student outcomes at the course, department, and Collegelevels.
Establish, cultivate, andmaintaincollegial and cooperative work relationships with
instructors in theArchitectural Technology Program, the Department’s administrators, academic advisors, support staff, and all College personnel.
Participate actively in the College community throughArchitectural TechnologyDepartment andSchool of Design and the Artsmeetings and College-wide committee work.
Utilize campus technology to stay current in theArchitectural Technologyoccupation and connect to faculty, staff, and students; and
Participate in ongoing professional development activities and professional association memberships.
Minneapolis College’sArchitectural Technologyprogram provides students with the technical knowledge and hands-onskills to design buildings with computer aided design (CAD) and building information (BID) technology from practicing architects. The college offersthe following awards in Architectural Technology:
Salary Range:
$43,067 - $71,893 annually. Salary schedule placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2023 - 2025 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for the Minnesota State credentialof Architectural Drafting/Technology
Education RequirementAssociate’s degree in architectural drafting/technology or a degree in architecture.
Occupational Experience Requirement:Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience in architectural drafting/technology or as a license/registered architect.
Recency Requirement:One year of this work experience shall be within the five yearsimmediatelypreceding the date of application for the credential field. Therecency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement (to be completed within first three years of employment)
Preferred Qualification
Master’s degree in Architecture or related field
Occupational experience as an Architect.
Three years of demonstrated teaching experience in Architecture within a two-year or four-year college or university setting.
Demonstrated knowledge of International Building Codes (IBC), Residential Building Codes (RBC), 2024 Energy Building Codes, and sustainability practices in architecture (LEED) and associated social factors.
Demonstrated knowledge of REVIT and Auto-CAD software programs.
Demonstrated experience ineducationallearning systems and Microsoft Office software.
Experience developing and using student-centered, active, and experiential learning strategies.
Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery and
assessing student academic achievement.
Other Requirements
Current and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College to be considered for the position.
