Inside the Role

The Technical Business Systems Analyst III serves as a senior-level liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, providing expertise in the analysis, design, implementation, enhancement, and support of enterprise business systems. This role is responsible for understanding complex business processes, identifying technology solutions, managing system integrations, and ensuring applications align with organizational objectives.
The incumbent leads cross-functional projects, drives continuous improvement initiatives, performs advanced business and systems analysis, and provides technical guidance to junior analysts. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, project leadership skills, and expertise in enterprise applications, data management, integrations, and business process optimization

Position offers a starting salary range of $104,000 – $133,000 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Analyze, design, and implement enterprise IT solutions supporting engineering operations for a heavy-duty commercial vehicle manufacturer, including powertrain test lab systems, project time management, and overtime tracking applications.
  • Gather, document, and validate business requirements from multiple stakeholder groups (technicians, supervisors, engineering managers, and finance teams) to develop Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) for custom and third-party application solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend software solutions by conducting vendor assessments, coordinating product demonstrations, developing decision matrices, and performing cost-benefit analyses to identify the best-fit replacement for legacy enterprise systems
  • Lead end-to-end IT project management activities including scope definition, milestone planning, timeline development, risk assessment, and stakeholder communication for application replacement and modernization initiatives serving 300+ engineering users.
  • Design and present mock screens, technical requirement documents, and solution proposals to business stakeholders and IT leadership, incorporating data security, compliance, and integration considerations with ERP systems
  • Coordinate with internal custom application development teams and external vendors to oversee software delivery, release management, and change management processes for engineering IT solutions.
  • Support the deployment and maintenance of global Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, including PLATON, by managing requirements, testing, and release activities in collaboration with regional and global IT partners.
  • User Support for the local Engineers on PLM and other Daimler Truck Engineering IT systems
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for custom applications, IT operations procedures, and system integration workflows to ensure knowledge transfer and audit compliance.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering
  • 5 years of progressive experience in business systems analysis, IT solution delivery, or software development in an enterprise environment.
  • 5 years experience in business requirements gathering and documentation, including creation of Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) for enterprise IT solutions.
  • Extensive experience in vendor evaluation and solution selection using decision matrices, product demonstrations, and cost-benefit analysis.
  • IT project management including scope definition, milestone planning, timeline development, risk assessment, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Software delivery lifecycle management including change management, release management, and deployment coordination.
  • Enterprise application integration, including interfaces with ERP systems (e.g., SAP or similar cost allocation and financial systems).
  • Java-based application development, migration, or support in an enterprise environment.Database management and SQL-based reporting for enterprise application data.
  • Custom application requirements specification, including mock-up/prototype development and technical specification review.
  • Working knowledge of commercial vehicle or heavy equipment product development processes and engineering workflows in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working level understanding of global engineering IT systems, including Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platforms and engineering methods/tools used in vehicle or equipment development.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Master's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as: CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis) PMP (Project Management Professional) Agile/Scrum Certifications ITIL Foundation
