ABOUT THE JOB
As a Technical Business Analyst within NAB, you’llassists with the decomposition of work, writing Business Outcomes, Epics, Features, and User Stories so that their squad clearly articulates value, acceptance criteria, and estimates to get their work done. They support decision making with clear, insightful analysis, which allows the Product Owner to make decisions on ideation viability, sequencing, and shaping business context.
YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with Product Owner and stakeholders to understand, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with product vision and value delivery.
Support the definition of Lean Canvas, Epics, Features, and User Stories, and facilitate backlog prioritization.
Translate customer insights into well-structured User Stories with clear Acceptance Criteria for the development team.
Apply rigor and technical discipline to requirements definition and validation.
Partner with stakeholders to articulate product vision, define problems/opportunities, and outline desired future states with measurable outcomes.
Gather inputs and produce clear requirements to enable accurate estimation.
Work ahead of the team to prepare requirements for upcoming Business Outcomes, Epics, and Features.
Share accountability for backlog refinement and estimation during planning sessions.
Proactively identify and escalate risks, blockers, and continuously seek process improvements.
Be available to clarify requirements, assist in breaking down Stories, and participate in Sprint reviews.
Decompose work into Business Outcomes, Epics, Features, and User Stories to establish a product backlog.
Manage Epic sequencing, communicate with senior stakeholders, and recommend trade-offs in technical decisions.
Collect and analyze data to support informed decision-making in complex environments.
Own current/future process maps, interaction models, and customer journey maps aligned with enterprise architecture.
Structure problems logically and perform deep analysis to articulate Epics in Progressive Elaboration documentation.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Must have
Having 5+ years’ work experience as a Business Analyst (in any industry)
Strong project experience across multiple business units and complex environments and methodologies
Advanced skills in using suitable tools for business modelling, drawing business and technical flows/diagrams, creating mock-ups wireframes/prototypes, etc.
Good skill in Elicitation and Requirement analysis & documentation with a high-level focus on details
Working knowledge of technical concepts (e.g. user interfaces, API, databases, system integration) and dealing with technical stakeholders
Experience in the UI/UX or understanding of user-centric mindset
Hands-on experience working in AgileScrum team; able to support the team as Scrum master if needed.
Excellent English communication skills (both verbal & written) and strong Presentation capabilities
Hands-on experience in influencing and collaborating with internal stakeholders such as Product Owners, Solution Designers and Architects
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, with detail-oriented mindset
Experience about PowerBI, PowerQueryon Excel other Data tools
Preferable about data analyst experience, or working experience with project related to large scale, large data
Nice-to-have
Experience or knowledge of BABOK® Knowledge Areas
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in IT, Business, Computer Science, or related area
Experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry
Any additional certification or training in BA, PO, UX or related area (e.g. PSPO, CSPO, CBAP)
