We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst (Data, Analytics & AI) to join our Bunnings Technology team.

About the role

Data is at the heart of how we support our teams, stores and customers - and this role sits right in the middle of it. As a Technical Business Analyst in our Data, Analytics & AI team, you’ll partner closely with data engineers, analytics specialists and business stakeholders to turn complex questions into clear, actionable insights. This is a role for someone who loves the discovery phase - shaping problems, leading conversations, and setting initiatives up for success from the very start. We’re building the best… Our team makes it happen.

You’ll be joining a collaborative, technically curious team that values clear thinking, practical solutions and learning together - Inspiring you to give it a red hot go as you explore new ideas and better ways of working.

What’s involved

This role gives you the opportunity to lead and influence how data and analytics solutions come to life across Bunnings. You’ll:

  • Drive discovery and requirements gathering for data, BI and analytics initiatives, working alongside business and technology partners
  • Translate business needs into clear data requirements that enable meaningful insights
  • Partner closely with data engineering and platform teams to ensure data is fit for purpose, trusted and accessible
  • Shape how data flows from source to insight, contributing to mappings, transformation logic and quality rules
  • Support data governance and quality initiatives, helping lift confidence in how data is defined and used
  • Facilitate workshops, conversations and user engagement to ensure solutions genuinely solve the right problems
  • Work within an agile environment, helping initiatives move smoothly from discovery through to delivery and adoption

Every project gives you a chance to learn something new, deepen your technical understanding and make a real impact on how decisions are made across the business.

About You

You’re someone who thrives at the intersection of people, data and technology. You’re comfortable sitting within a data and analytics team, speaking the language of both business and technical partners, and bringing them together around shared outcomes.

You enjoy asking the right questions early, creating clarity where things are ambiguous, and guiding initiatives with confidence. You’re collaborative by nature, open to different perspectives, and motivated by seeing your work make a practical difference for others. You’ll be part of a supportive, cross‑functional team that values teamwork, curiosity and continuous improvement.

What you’ll need

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • 3 - 5 years experienced as Technical Business Analyst working with data, analytics or AI platforms
  • Strong discovery, requirements elicitation and workshop facilitation skills
  • Confidence working alongside data engineers, analysts and architects
  • Experience with data warehousing, data lakes or enterprise data platforms
  • Practical knowledge of SQL, data profiling and data modelling concepts
  • Exposure to analytics and reporting tools (such as Power BI or similar)
  • Familiarity with agile ways of working and delivery from discovery to implementation
  • A clear, practical communication style that helps bring people along the journey

Why join us?

You’ll be supported to grow your skills, explore new technologies and build pathways that are yours to build - all while contributing to work that helps teams across Bunnings do their best every day.
