Job Description

Forward with Cuscal

At Cuscal, we're not just shaping the future of payments, we're pioneering it.

For more than 59 years, we've been at the forefront of Australia's payments landscape, delivering secure, innovative solutions that millions of Australians rely on every day. From launching Australia's first ATM network to becoming one of the country's most trusted payments partners, innovation has always been part of our story.

As Australia's largest independent payments provider, we continue to invest heavily in technology, cyber security and digital transformation to support our clients and the customers they serve.

We're now looking for a Technical Business Analyst - Cyber to join our Enterprise Technology Services team and play a pivotal role in delivering strategic cyber security initiatives that strengthen our technology environment and support our future growth.

Your Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Program Delivery, you'll act as the crucial bridge between business stakeholders, cyber security specialists and technology delivery teams. You'll work across a portfolio of cyber transformation initiatives, helping define requirements, assess risks and ensure solutions are delivered effectively.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst who enjoys working in complex technology environments and wants to deepen their involvement in cyber security programs.

In this role you'll:

  • Partner with cyber security, architecture, risk, compliance and business teams to gather, analyse and document requirements for strategic cyber initiatives.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews and discovery sessions to define business problems and identify solution options.
  • Translate business and security requirements into user stories, process maps, use cases, functional specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyse current and future state business processes to improve security, operational effectiveness and customer outcomes.
  • Support cyber risk assessments, control reviews and compliance activities to ensure solutions align with regulatory and organisational requirements.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers and project delivery teams to ensure requirements are traceable, understood and delivered successfully.
  • Contribute to business cases, impact assessments, implementation planning and governance reporting.
  • Support testing, UAT, defect triage and validation activities to ensure delivered solutions meet business and security objectives.
  • Assist with change management and business readiness activities including documentation, communications and training support.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role you'll bring:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst or Cyber SME within banking, financial services or consulting environments.
  • Strong understanding of technology delivery and business analysis practices across both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience working on cyber security, technology transformation or risk-focused initiatives.
  • Knowledge of payment systems, banking technology or highly regulated environments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across technical and business audiences.
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence and the broader Atlassian suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and documentation capabilities.
  • The ability to simplify complex technical and cyber concepts for diverse stakeholder groups.

You'll stand out if you have:

  • Experience supporting enterprise cyber security programs.
  • BABOK, CCBA or CBAP certification.
  • Knowledge of cyber risk frameworks, governance processes and compliance obligations.
  • Experience working with enterprise identity, cloud or infrastructure environments.
