Job Description

Technical Business Analyst

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of proficient skills in SQL
  • 3+ years experience in Unix/Linux Operation systems
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in an analyst role (Financial Services industry preferred)
  • Experience in production support (Investigations, log files, root cause)
  • Basic understanding of reconciliations
  • Proficient in Windows, MS Office tools e.g. Excel, Notepad++
  • Experience in application support & investigations
  • Experience with Reporting tools (Power BI preferred)
  • Project/time management
  • Experience in the following technologies is advantageous
  • Data ETL
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Python / C#/ C++ or other coding experience
  • Financial understanding
  • Api development/testing
  • XML

Responsibilities:

  • Investec is looking for a technical business analyst/developer.
  • Strong logical ability is required.
  • A systematic thinking approach is essential.

  • Technical investigations are part of the role.
  • The GRO delivers strategic and operational reconciliation initiatives.
  • The team operates within a global Company community (South Africa, Ireland, Guernsey, United Kingdom, and Mauritius).
  • The team is fast-paced and performance-driven.
  • Focus on delivering and supporting reconciliations.
  • The application used is SmartStream TLM, running on an Oracle DB and Linux OS.
  • The role involves working in partnership with others.
  • Participation in the full SDLC, including post-implementation activities, is required.
  • Processes and business rules must be accurately documented.
  • Passion for understanding Companies' business is important.
  • Supports the achievement of delivery while gathering requirements.
  • Manages development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation aspects of requirements.
  • Responsible for full reconciliation builds or strategic enhancements.
  • Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported, and resolved.
  • Conducts root cause analysis for proactive investigation.
  • Communicates and applies project standards.
  • Consistently delivers high-quality services to clients.
